Why do racist democrats try to blame their history on republicans?

Because white Democrats today are very different than they were in the past
 
lol, the issue of race, slavery, and segregation, has always been a Conservative vs Liberal issue. Years ago the staunch conservatives in the south were mostly Democrats, and today they are mostly Republicans who voted for Donald Trump. Same ideology, only today they support a different party. Conservatives has always opposed progress, and to maintain the "status quo". They opposed abolishing slavery, they opposed MLK and the civil rights act (despite this hilarious falsehood in right wing circles that MLK was a Republican), and they are the ones opposing LGBT rights today. Liberals elected the first black president, and conservatives responded by electing the one white man who spent 6 years claiming that black president was a foreign born Muslim with a fake birth certificate. Coincidence? I think not.

Perhaps you never understood what you were taught about the founders growing up. Such a pity. Our founders were conservatives, the slave owning KKK jim crow democrats were the problem. We have outlived the democrat problem for over 200 years, I hope we can at least outlast you until after I die

No they were socialists, big government types, democrats have hardly ever been classical liberals, who are conservatives. I know it doesn't make much sense to you, but big government plans are always the fault of socialists, and slave owners were always socialists. It's bad when you can't even keep your racist, revisionist history straight. Everyone knows that the Civil War was about states rights and that the South just didn't want the federal government having so much power over them. It was the liberal northern states trying to force their views on the South.

Historically parties tend to change positions a lot. For a while democrats were the party of slavery, now they are the party of diversity. Republicans used to be the party of free trade, now they are the party of tariffs. Republicans used to be the party of isolationism and non-intervention, now they are the party of big military and military intervention. Republicans used to be the party of moral values now it is the party of Trump.
