Straight Pride Parades

Lindsey always seemed boarder line to me. It's too bad he lacks the backbone to come out for or condemn gays...
Why should he condemn gays, regardless of his sexual orientation?

Is there even a need for these things any more ?
The days of treating gays as pariahs has come and gone.
The few people who still DO treat them as pariahs are not worth thinking about

That's probably true. We went to a business/family gathering type event recently where the gay guy showed up with his boyfriend/husband/partner/whatever. That would never have happened back in the 90's.

I'm seriously thinking about it.

He can't open his ignorant mouth anymore without insulting Blacks, or gays or Mexicans, etc.. He sits there daily and watches Fox and laps up their hate. I think a ahem 'MAGA' hat would be the perfect gift... lol

Oh, a Fox News guy. :( Some of those are absolutely unbearable.

You might be able to talk hockey with the guy. But, that's about it. And, even that may devolve into a rant against "socialist" Canada.

I'm not saying he should. I'd like to see him come out and show some pride as a gay man. My point being that he lacks the guts to come out without shame or condemn gays as perverts. He lack the courage to take a public stand either way.

Sexual orientation is a private affair, but it's also very political when it comes to gay rights. For me, refusing to comment on gays in our society is unacceptable in a politician...

No.. Hockey and Soccer are a socialist plot to take over the US.. Don't you listen to Fox? Lol

When you can be fired from your job simply for being gay, yes there is reason to still fight for rights.

Fair enough. I can respect this.

If you don't support the theme of a parade don't attend.

I don't see any legitimate reason Boston had to deny the permits the city's hands were tied.

Straight pride is superfluous. Gays (and other minorities) are persecuted and discriminated against. Straight people are not.

It's ironic that the most powerful group in America - straight white christian males - feel so hard done by. They hold the levers of power, they got their man in the white house, the f*cking world swinging from their noses but they pretend to be a persecuted minority.

Except it's a front for white supremacists and hate groups. They should be denied permits because there are laws against hate speech.

If they break any hate speech laws then prosecute them. But denying a permit based on what one might say would open the city up to a lawsuit. Makes sence to let them have their parade instead of facing a discriminating lawsuit by denying it.

Well, here's a bizarre twist.

A Straight Pride Parade? One may be coming to Boston this summer

Do people not get what "pride" parades are all about?

Hint: It's for marginalized people to step forward with pride. They are not an opportunity for people who are in the majority to play victim.

Any questions?

Pride parades are all about shoving one's identity/agenda down everyone's throat. It's an "in your face" tactic that dares anyone to say, or do anything about it.

What laws are those?

The March of the Incels! Coming to your town soon!

Gay or straight--and, Lindsey is certainly gay--he's still a white guy. And, that is where his South Carolina loyalty lies.

There is pride in being straight.

Correct, but the operative phrase by calamity is 'It's for marginalized people'. I'll give you an analogy. Down syndrome people are marginalized. Imagine they have a Down Syndrome Pride parade. Next, imagine people of normal intelligence getting upset about the attention the Down Syndrome people are getting. They organize a counter-parade called the "Normal IQ Pride Parade".

Think about the reaction. They would be stealing the thunder from those that need the charity and attention - the 'marginalized', the 'special'. This is the concept by which a Straight Parade is frowned upon.

Yes, when's the white pride parade scheduled?

Typical moron thinking:

Golly Gee, the Blacks got Black pride what's wrong with White pride? The Queers got Gay pride, what's wrong with Straight Pride? They got BET, why can't we have White TV? If rappers can use the N-word, why can't we?

These are grand mysteries to these people.

This is really funny. I wonder if they're all single?

Do they realize that the world's first Pride March was at the Stonewall Riots, when gay bars were illegal and people were fighting back against police brutality?

When has any straight man ever had a problem with the police for being straight?

This is really rich. These guys are not too bright. Anyone participating is putting their stupidity on full display.

LOL, given Cal's definition white male may be qualified to hold a pride parade. We're blamed for everything, verbally abused constantly, etc.

It's nice to know you pay so much attention to my definitions.

Only if they held the parades on the same day in the same city.
