Is this witness tampering? Let's be totally fair and unbiased here. Let's say you were on a jury. Is Dowd trying to influence the testimony of this witness?

How can this be interpreted as "trying to influence the testimony of this witness" when Dowd is simply asking for information..."we need some kind of heads up. Um, just for the sake of ... protecting all our interests, if we can, without you having to give up any ... confidential information."

I don't care about Trump's base. I care about normal people. I think an impeachment trial should include this recording. Any rational person will have to admit that this was an attempt to tamper with a witness and obstruct justice.

The message should be, "Nobody is above the law."

Trump has been acting as a Mob Boss. He gets everyone to do his dirty work and take the blame. Cohen is in prison party for lying for Trump. Now Dowd will surely be disbarred if not worse. But what about Con Don? Is he above the law?

See but if impeachment proceedings go through, and Congress finds Trump guilty, the Senate will exonerate him. Which will only imply that some people are above the law. It's not good optics for the GOP, sure but they don't care. They already know that their base only truly care about pissing off Democrats.
 
Where's the part where he "influence" a witness?

There's a subtle but obvious undertone of Russia in that voice mail. Sure, Dowd never really said anything incriminating or implied anything criminal but if you stop listening to what was said and just let your imagination run wild you can hear all that background noise that CLEARLY implicates Trump in a conspiracy to undermine the Mueller investigation and turn American sovereignty over to Putin.

Heads up that you have information that implicates the president? Please explain what he wants heads up about? And don't forget about the president and his feelings towards you, that STILL REMAINS. In other words, although you're cooperating the president still likes you, wink, wink.

We can't have honest debate if you're going to just deny reality.

Dowd is asking a witness for a heads up about any information that may "implicate the president." What is that about? Then he adds that bit about the president's feelings.

We're all adults here. Let's not pretend. If you're really going to defend this then you have ZERO credibility. No honest person can deny what Dowd is doing.

All we have hard from you guys for the last 2 1/2 years is bogus accusations of collusion that turned out to be nothing more than liberal lies. Now we are treated to threads like this where unfulfilled leftists hear 'crimes' in every spoken word. With all due respect, you seem to be letting your emotional response to this influence your reason. There is NOTHING in that call which could logically be used to prove a conspiracy. The ONLY way you get to "conspiracy" with that call is by making an emotional appeal to your audience to find that conspiracy. It is, once again, a case of the media and the "resistance" working off their theory that Trump must be guilty of something so everything has to be considered in the light most damaging to him.
 
Does anyone remember why John Dowd quit as Trump's lawyer in the Mueller investigation? Dowd warned Trump against testifying in unusually colorful language, telling him in late March 2018, “Don’t testify. It’s either that or an orange jumpsuit,” according to the book. When Trump replied that he would be a good witness, Dowd replied, “I’m afraid I just can’t help you,” and resigned the next day.

John Dowd knew that if Trump testified he couldn't tell the truth about anything and he'd perjure himself.

What was Dowd asking for? Why did he mention how Trump feels about Flynn?
