Why Does The Left Like to Compare U.S.A's Healthcare to Europe, But Not Education?

Duh..... because it's so low?(LOL)

So justify it then if it so important to you. Start with the various components which led to the ranking as well as the validity of the ranking to the national health.

Sorry bud,, I'm not writing a book here

No need to as your refusal clearly shows you cannot justify either and the ranking is dismissed.

Nah, I'm not going to read you a story

You can research all the fine details if you would like

Nobody wants you to read anything - I would never tax your abilities in such an unseemly manner.... I merely ask that you engage in the normal part of debate which is proving the validity of your allegation with the appropriate verifiable evidence. That is now and has always been your job in this task and falls squarely and solely upon the maker of the claim - yourself.

I am all for a K-16 type program, providing that after 12th grade the students reach a threshold of minimum attendance and don't just half ass their way through it.

Wasn't it dick Cheney that said Reagan proved deficits don't matter?

So why do you never ask the same question if your Republican friends who spend billions dollars on new airplanes from their pals and Lockheed Martin and free college would cost a fraction of that

Is it because the left controls control education in the states?

A lot of European countries have better education no?

The left controls education?

Tell me....how did they do this?

I'm on the left, too. I also have no ****ing idea what you mean.
I'd love it if we adopted a more European style approach to education here in the United States.

And "the left controls education" is another myth. Texas makes schoolbook purchase decisions not only for itself but, because of its size, many other surrounding states as well. That means that millions of kids are being taught that we're not a democracy, and that the Civil War was not about slavery, and that "evolution is a controversy" among gazillions of other bits of absolute utter nonsense.

The left controls education my rosy red butt.
If we controlled education we wouldn't be hearing bullcrap about Hitler being a lefty liberal, which he wasn't.
This tired old trope is as false as the notion that the left controls broadcasting and news media, which is doesn't.
News is controlled by corporate bottom line...PROFIT, plain and simple.
News is a consumer product in the USA and has been for more than forty years.

We're trying our best to convince folks like you, it's better and cheaper and nobody will ever lose everything over a medical bill. But for some reason or other that seems much to difficult for most on the right to comprehend.

Oh yeah, definitely. After HS graduation means testing and ability to benefit need to factor in because there is no point throwing good taxpayer money after a bad student who isn't interested in learning. At most, give them a Voc-Tech course in something that they can turn into a job and cut them loose if their performance is lackluster.

In Germany a "Gymnasium" is a type of school with a strong emphasis on academic learning, and providing advanced secondary education in some parts of Europe comparable to British grammar schools, sixth form colleges and US preparatory high schools.

The German "Gymnasium" Abitur system is a great example.
The Abitur is a test that determines university entrance qualification.
If you do not pass your abitur, you don't enter the university.
Berufsoberschule is an optional part of the German education system, and is an additional way to be allowed at university for students who didn't get an abitur at a Gymnasium. If you don't pass your abitur and don't get your berufsoberschule, you're most likely headed to a voc-tech course to train for a trade.

By eighth grade in the USA a competent school administrator knows which kids are going to make use of their education and which ones won't.
You can still reach someone by that point but not for very long. By ninth or tenth grade it is the end of the road for most students who won't apply themselves despite having the tools at hand. You might see an occasional miracle kid who turns around and that's worth noting, but beyond that, in most cases, they are who they're going to be by that point.
I'm a big believer in second chances but they have to prove something if that is offered to them.

Absolutely European countries have a much better system, but both Dems and Repubs are responsible for our poor system and Devos is making it worse. Many Dems have spoken out about her leadership.
