Trump Accepts Genital Mutilation

You can't go buy an ounce of weed in Colorado and bring it home to Kansas. THat is a federal violation subject to federal law.

BTW, feds are punishing people who violate the federal drug laws in states where it is legal.

USCIS: Immigrants Linked to Legal Weed Unfit for Citizenship

So, your argument sucks.

You make the (bolded above) assertion and then, of course, fail to provide any evidence to support it. Instead, you quote an article about moral character and citizenship application review which "may happen under new rules".

It helps a little (in theory) but depends on the odds of being stopped on a federal (interstate) highway by a federal law enforcement officer.

And, if you are stopped on an interstate highway, it is possible that federal laws could come into play, which can carry even harsher penalties.

Of course, the thrust of the article was explaining that other state's laws still apply once one leaves CO.

I wouldn't bet on those odds, would you?

Both practices are barbaric

Who are you to judge?

The Chin people built the great wall of China to keep out the Mongolians and Tartars, the barbarians. They manipulated both peoples to keep them warring with each other as a distraction from invading China's western empire. The Mongols demolished the Tartars, turned their attentions to the Chin, smashed the gates of the great wall, and gave the Chin cities a choice. Submit or die. A few cities fought the Mongols, and disappeared from the face of the earth. The Mongol barbarians dominated China ever after. Today they view you as a barbarian. Untrustworthy and ignorant, unable to exist without instant gratification, unjustifiably self righteous. No better than the Tartar jackals who cruelly continue to plague the EuroAsian steppes.

Be careful of who and what you call barbarian and barbaric. You may find yourself under their foot. No empire was ever as large as the Mongol empire. It changed the world. On the other hand, you...... Do you really believe your self righteous arrogance matters?

Gen mutation is not a "Muslim thing."
It is in America.

Furthermore, the ban on it has been construed as Islamophobic. To wit, from the BI article referenced by the Salon article in the OP:

Meanwhile, several states that don't already have bans on FGM are considering bills to enact them. Some have faced opposition. In Connecticut, Susan Yolen, a vice president of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England, Inc., argued a law might end up putting more pressure on girls who'd have to turn in their own family members.

"And so, if they are frightened away from their health care provider because of a practice that many of us might consider you know, barbaric or dangerous, then that's not a good thing," she said. "I think finding out what we need to find out about its prevalence is a good step one before we decide it's a criminal activity."

Yolen was also suspicious after she learned the Connecticut bill was sponsored by people whom she thought might be Islamophobic.

"It's mostly Muslim folks who practice this procedure — they have been specifically targeted by the current administration," she said.

I'm in agreement with most everyone else here: you're directing your anger at the wrong people. The current administration is doing precisely what it should do: uphold the US Constitution and the constitutional bounds on the powers of federal government, even when doing so puts the onus on states to ban practices such as FGM.

Perhaps your time would be better spent writing (respectfully) to bureaucrats like Ms. Nolan, explaining that while banning FGM may have the optics of an assault on Muslims, she really ought to consider this the lesser evil.

Also mention in the above linked article
Last month, the Trump administration sent a letter to Congress saying there aren't adequate grounds to defend the law and urged lawmakers to fix it.

Here is the letter
