MAGA --- Make Asia Great Again

Orange man BAD! Man just give it a break.......

Resist at all costs

I know, it's hard to defend someone who went so far to sign an executive order "buy American" but can't be bothered to live by example.

So you WANT Trump directly involved in the day to day operations of his businesses?

Nah, the pattern on the drapes and the carpet thread count will suffice.......

That's a stupid statement.

How many brand-name American companies are producing polo shirts in the US of A?

And the golf clubs (or whatever the "sticks" are called ... "... It’s been nearly two decades since we’ve seen forged club heads mass-produced here in the U.S. The economics of Asian manufacturing prompted OEMs to look to the Far East, ..."

Made In The USA: P53 and the Lost American Iron

That is the whole point: we have "exported" our manufacturing jobs to China.

It is time to bring them back!

You'd think that the people with the responsibility of looking after the Trump brand would care about not making him look like more of a hypocrite than he already looks like. You'd think they'd keep up and follow his lead when he suddenly decided to pretend to care about buying American.

Lol cause like it's so hard for a "billionaire" to afford to pay someone to make sure they buy American. I mean it was so important to him he did sign an executive order wouldn't it be worth the expense to be such a patriot?

Ahh, that would be his two sons. They supposedly are acting as "blind trust" managers :rofl

Yeah ... you'd think they'd be especially conscious of having Trump Inc. lead the way with Buy American.

But they're pretty brazen in their hypocrisy and justifiably confident that Trump's base won't care, while surprisingly unconcerned about expanding that base.

See post #8 ...

So you're stating that the Trump Organization had no other choice but to buy products manufactured in China? There are no furniture or interior furnishing companies that manufacture their products in the US? No apparel companies either?

From a business perspective it makes sense to buy goods from a country with low wages because it increases your profit margin by reducing the cost of those products. Trump could have mandated his organization use US made products almost exclusively; why didn't he?

I think if the boss came down and said, "don't do this" it might carry some weight, don't you?

That is a pathetic, not very sensical response from someone who goes by the moniker "common sense"

Don't you think "common sense" would say that if you're against things made outside of America, your business wouldn't be selling them?

Of course. I’d be willing to bet if he did there’d be a lot of people here shrieking about him managing his businesses while President, too.

It just highlights how deeply Obama let China hurt us.

He even gave them hegemony over the South China Sea because he thought Chinese sailor boys were “cute”.

Which is it? Do want him to force china into fair trade or not?

We're not getting those back, not on whole. Labor costs are too high in America, most Americans probably couldn't afford to buy things if they were all made here. Even taking a "hard line" with China won't bring back most of those jobs. We'd find some other place to manufacture.

Nope; as far as I know, no American brand-name company related to golf produces apparel in the US of A.

I want, when Trump declares "Buy American", for companies bearing his namesake not to pretend that the declaration doesn't apply to them. But reality is tough to ignore. I KNOW that Trump is talking out of his ass to begin with, and I KNOW his cult followers can't stand up to his hypocrisy.

If you mean by "not on whole" all the manufacturing jobs, I agree with you. But I still believe that a lot of lost manufacturing jobs could be brought back and survive in the US of A.

Anything that does come back will be manufactured in a largely automated factory.
Have we invested for a generation of highly trained and skilled people to take those automation jobs?
Nope.
