The Senate Will Not Vote on Any Election Security Bills, GOP Senator Says – Mother Jones
I want to know why Mitch McConnell has halted votes on all of the Election security bills? Some of them are apparently bipartisan in nature, but according to one GOP Senator McConnell told the GOP senators that he would not allow votes on any of those bills. My only thought is that he believes that Trump will once again need the Russian interference to win in 2020. Sometimes I wonder how much money McConnell has taken from the Russians. He apparently cares little about our contry and is only interested in keeping himself, Trump and the GOP in power in that order.

Mitch McConnell is one of the biggest sell out hypocrites of the entire 116th Congress.

Worse, Republicans only care about opposing party voter disenfranchisement but anything that helps Trump seems to be acceptable.

Any specifics on what these bill comprise? Or is "election security" in the title enough to cause irrational hysteria?

Well, after reading that slanted article I have to agree with McConnell's position. Why do we need Congress spewing new laws when we already have laws and we already have federal law enforcement dealing with the issue?

I'm thinking the Dems want to use it as a campaign issue to help them next year more than they want to actually do something good. That's how they operate, after all. If it helps them politically they want it now...no matter how unnecessary it is.

You are a bit confused - you are thinking about the Trump wall

Unnecessary?!?

Russia fixed our election!!!!!!

Russia fixed our election!!!!!!

Nonsense. Russia did no such thing.

Oh...for sure, they might have tried to "affect" our stupid, useful idiot voters but they didn't do anything to "fix" our election.

Seriously...the sooner you get over your hyperbole the better you'll feel.

Not sure I understand... you do know that Russians interfered in the last election, right? Why would you not want to make the next one more secure? Or are you aware of efforts by federal law enforcement that should solve the problem?

Interfered how? No votes were tampered with, at least by the Russians. Democrats and Republicans that's a whole other story. That said the only thing the Russians did is talk and write, they have been doing that for well over a century, along with every other country on the planet.

Agree with McConnel on this.

Maybe I'm too skeptic but I am very suspicious of Dems bearing gifts. While everyone agrees that election security is important I don't recall any of them coming out for nation ID procedure. I recall an article a few months back about these bills and despite the attractive names they are a bunch of bills seeking to give dems every possible advantage in 2020. I say good on McConnell.

Evidently I am more aware than you are...or maybe you just didn't read the OP's article.

Just last month, the FBI shifted additional resources toward stopping Russians from interfering in 2020. “We are very much viewing 2018 as just kind of a dress rehearsal for the big show in 2020,” Director Christopher Wray warned.

That Mother Jones article even linked to this article: F.B.I. Warns of Russian Interference in 2020 Race and Boosts Counterintelligence Operations - The New York Times

They absolutely did, 78,000 votes in 4 states put our criminal in the Whitehouse.

Not to worry though, trump has completely ****ed himself in those states.

Even Putin will not be able to sway enough votes again, no matter how badly traderous cultists are hoping he can...

One could learn quite a bit about how to manipulate people with words if one wanted to and tried for a hundred years to figure out how, don't you think?

They hacked voter rolls, attempted to hack voting machines in 26 states.

We have done nothing to stop them.

Do you think they have done nothing to get better at it?

OK, let's play this silly game...why didn't Obama stop them?

Because he didn't want to listen to trump and his minions cry about it for the rest of time?

Oh, so now we're "stupid, useful idiot voters".
Why not just call us "deplorables"?
Oh wait, you took umbrage at that in 2016, didn't you?

Well, now YOU are on record as labeling most American voters as deplorables.
Spoken like a truly snobby, effete, elitist poser.

And you think Russia got Trump those votes? LOL!!

How?

Don't put words in my mouth. I said nothing about "deplorables". I mentioned "stupid, useful idiot voters".

Are you saying that most American voters were influenced by the Russians? You should talk to GDViking. He thinks only 78,000 voters were influenced by the Russians. Me? I think it was a small fraction of that.

Mitch is not dumb. KY likes Trump. So Mitch will do whatever pleases Trump.

Simplest ****ing job in government.

Once again we find you out here to defend Trump and his cronies. Anyone surprised, of course not.
