1. All responsibility falls on the employee.
If you want higher wages and decent living conditions, then don't demand that your employers pay you more if they're able. Instead, move further away where it's cheaper (where there are no jobs) and leave the town where you were raised and your family. You have to do all the work. Sure, business profits may be rising, but the employer has no responsibility to the employee and gets to collect as much of the profit as he wants. This is what conservatism stands for now: avarice. Is that a conservative value? It's certainly not a traditional one.
2. Money is more important than family.
This is the most aggravating one to me. What's the answer to low wages and high cost of living? Bunk up. Share an apartment. Sure, that's not practical for families, but you shouldn't have kids anyway. Because, apparently work is more important than child rearing? Is this another conservative value? It's certainly not a traditional one.
3. Investment is treated as earned income.
When stock prices rise and other assets rise in value, then all of that deserves to go to those who own those assets. Of course, those assets are only owned by those who can afford them, and the poor certainly cannot afford them, but they deserve it! Nevermind the fact that much of those gains either come from holding back wages to workers (stock buybacks) or shut workers out of home ownership (property price appreciation), but we just can't do anything about it! Apparently idle gain, or getting something for nothing, is now a good thing. Is this a conservative value? It's certainly not a traditional one.
4. Everything I don't like is SOCIALISM!!!
Much like leftists call everything that they don't like fascism, conservatives call anything that they don't like socialism. We could have simple solutions like making stock buybacks illegal or taxing capital gains as high as labor, but ohhhhhh no. That's socialism! You see, anytime the government does ANYTHING, it's socialism. This is aggravating. Socialism has a specific definition. It means government ownership of the means of production. Why is the government doing nothing a good thing? Why is that accepted as a given? There are plenty of evil things in our society, like corporations pushing morals that conservatives hate. What's wrong with attacking companies that attack your morality? They don't like you, so why are you holding a candle for them? When we can have simple solutions that make family formation cheaper and easier, which makes for more stable communities, which makes life more pleasant, then why not? When did this do-nothing attitude become a conservative value? It's certainly not a traditional one.
5. Wages aren't falling blah blah blah I can't hear you.
Look. It's really simple. Home prices are rising faster than wages. They've been doing so for decades. This is a big reason why family formation is down. It's a big reason why the fertility rate is down. It's why depression is on the rise. It's a big reason why drug use is so high. We can make big dents in these problems by putting upward pressure on wages, but you refuse to do it. Why? Because you think that any intervention in the economy is more evil than the havoc that's been wreaked on the family. That's a conservative value? It's certainly not a traditional one.
I want all of you conservatives to realize something: the free market hates you, hates your family, and hates your morality. So why are you giving up everything to please those corporations? These corporations have fired your fathers, shipped the jobs overseas, and left you with jobs waiting tables and bartending. Is this the future that you want for your family? Do you want to go back to the days when a single income could support a family and a home? Then why do you support the economic system that has destroyed this?
This is your wake up call. As you continue to do nothing, those who hate your values continue to gain economic power. You think our economic elites are unhappy about what's going on? Who do you think is funding all of this degeneracy? You need to step up and make sure that your values are pushed. You do that by helping out the families that have been abandoned. You do that with the only power you still have, your democratic one. Help families, and we stop this degeneracy. Ignore it, and it will continue unimpeded.
