For all of the Trump acolytes, white nationalist types (including the closeted white nationalists) here.......

According to alt-right leader, Richard Spencer:

US alt-right leader: No Charlottesville without Trump

"There is no question that Charlottesville wouldn’t have occurred without Trump. It really was because of his campaign and this new potential for a nationalist candidate who was resonating with the public in a very intense way. The alt-right found something in Trump. He changed the paradigm and made this kind of public presence of the alt-right possible."

And thus ends the "debate" about Trump's effect on the rise in white nationalist/supremacy/neo-nazism in the U.S. between Trump acolytes....and reality-based Americans.

You're aware that the alt-right has completely turned on Trump, right?

Yup, and note the tense Spencer uses in this obvious Trump hit piece. The Atlantic dredges up this troll from under his bridge so they can get quotes from him that try to pin Heather Heyer's death on Trump. Anyone paying attention to the events surrounding that day, and since then, know that Trump has rejected the alt-Right/neo-Nazis/white supremacists (and disabused them of the misguided notion he was EVER on their "side") and they've since turned away from Trump, and towards the Democrats, with whom they share their anti-Semitic views.

Spencer is as mad as a March hare. But in this instance, he is correct.

The alt-right loves Trump. They loved him from the day he called Mexicans rapists. They were looking for the leader who wouldn't be afraid to show his true racist feelings. And they found their soulmate who would keep those icky gays and trannies out of the military. Trump was the ideal person to lead the new right.

They're going more for Tulsi Gabbard and Andrew Yang than Trump.

Trump flicked off the kitchen light so that the cockroaches would feel safer scurrying out from under the fridge. time to turn it back on in 2020.

Oh, I have been in an institutional kitchen around midnight and turned on the lights! Roaches running in all compass points!

Lol, I can't see white nationalists voting for Muslims.

If you would have told me 2 years ago that David Duke would openly support Omar and call her "the most important member of Congress", I would have literally ROFL.

Well, if those two don't pan out, and they certainly won't, they can always fall back in that fellow in the White House and his Nazi friends.

Who are his Nazi friends? Would that be the Jewish Stephen Miller? Or the Jewish Steven Mnuchin? Maybe the Jewish Jared Kushner? Or maybe his Jewish daughter?

Nothing but a garbage thread trying any way to link president Trump
to the wack job Spencer.

All this shows is how truly desperate some are to try to damage
the Trump administration. Hint it's not working!

That's not true at all, it never turned on Trump. The alt-right and other white nationalist groups simply went back underground because activists punished them for misdeeds committed during their brief moment in the sun. That’s a testament to the strength of the backlash against 2017’s naked racism, and evidence of how costly being openly racist has become, especially on the internet, where it has doomed entire social media platforms to obscurity. But in its place has come something else, an underground white supremacist movement operating on society’s fringes, and a culture that disavows the racists while quietly mainstreaming their ideas.

Many of the groups that made headlines last year (and even this year) have since disbanded. Vanguard America and the Traditionalist Workers Party, who organized the 'Unite the Right' rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, both caved in to internal squabbling, and the 'Proud Boys' disbanded after founder Gavin McInnes quit the group. As a result, no rally has even approached the numbers Charlottesville drew. Average citizens, tech companies, and judges alike came down on them, hard. The alt-right doesn’t have to be visible to succeed. Going underground is simply a return to the status quo for American white supremacy.

To turn on Fox News (especially alt-right favorites Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham) is to hear thinly veiled white supremacist talking points presented as news. The alt-right may have gone underground physically, but its ideas persist and are being actively normalized, there’s no need to risk walking the streets when our president and respectable-looking talking heads on Fox will spread your ideas for you. So, no. White supremacists have not abandoned or turned on Trump by any stretch of the imagination.

Nonsense.

You're talking about the reddit/4chan/8chan crowd, which comprises a small faction of the alt-right.

Trump remains a hero to the far-right, and that includes the mainstream of the once-Grand Old Party.

how is this even news? lol
well i get it, its news cause that guy actually said but im sure anybody honest educated and objective already knew this

now to be fair its not as direct a link to trump as saying he planned it or wanted it etc but yes his vagueness and campaign that didnt distance himself from views like those people have absolutely made them feel empowered . . . but again i just dont like making it like a 100% tie to him. its correct though, yes with no trump i doubt that happens with any other candidate . . maybe something else happens though too . . we'll never know

Steven Miller isn't Trumps top advisor on immigration just by accident.

Trump wanted an Alt-right neo-Nazi type of individual formulating his border policies.

Who are his Nazi friends? Would that be the Jewish Stephen Miller? Or the Jewish Steven Mnuchin? Maybe the Jewish Jared Kushner? Or maybe his Jewish daughter?

Setting aside for a moment the fact that Stephen Miller's uncle practically called his nephew a Nazi, I was thinking of the Hungarian leader who Trump identifies with so strongly. Or his Brazilian president buddy who says the crimes of the Holocaust can be forgiven. Or his Polish PM buddy, who signed a law banning people from discussing Poland's role in the Holocaust.

Most thinking people knew this.

Trump can be called a hell of a lot of negative things... I know because I've called him several of them, but calling him a "racist" or a supporter of White supremacists... Nope.

If you read the article you'll notice that Spencer doesn't say that Trump was one of them, or that Trump said anything that was aligned with their movement. What he said was they supported Trump because they felt there was the "potential" he might be a nationalist candidate... In other words, because Trump wanted to secure the southern border, enforce immigration laws and beef up the screening process to prevent terrorists from getting into the US, he saw the potential that Trump might take it a step further and start deporting Jews and racial minorities, and banning them from entering the country. Of course he didn't do any of that, which is a big reason why Trump has fallen out of favor with his bunch.

I've said this on political boards in response to criticism of both Obama and Bush... Just because bad people choose to support a political candidate, doesn't mean that political candidate chooses to supports them.

.

Not really. That is a great example of making a distinction without much (or any) difference.

They run in the same circles and frequent the same sources for their information.

The "far-right" and the "alt-right" are "different" to about the same degree that White Supremacists, White Nationalists, Neo-Nazis and Sovereign Citizens are "different".

This is just not a serious rebuttal, by you.

Most thinking people knew this.

...hence my direct reference to the "Trump acolytes" (as opposed to "most thinking people") who've made fools of themselves denying the obvious and/or defending Trump, and/or defending the racist marchers who were emboldened by Trump to organize the Charlottesville rally.

Yeah, and Richard Spencer and Gavin McInnes are great pals!
