[W:190] What is it with Trump and windmills?

I wasn't talking about Trump. You seemed to indicate that it was stupid to even suggest that windmills were a problem as far as birds, whether eagles or others, just because Trump mentioned it. I posted an article that says bird deaths are underestimated. If you don't think the article is accurate, say why. Yet, all you do is ramble on about Trump as if we don't have quite enough of that daily.

The thread is about your cult leader saying stupid things that even you can't defend. So you spin....

Did you read the other post that showed everything else that kills far more birds? I doubt it.

Damn, the trumpanzie cultists sure get quiet when you show them some facts, and they run out of spin.

Must get tiring having to defend their idiot leader.

COMEDY GOLD

My article says the numbers are underestimated. I just find it amusing to see the whacky environut types defending it. Hey, when you can go back to 6th century technology it's worth the effort, I guess.:lamo

I wonder how many of those expressing outrage at accidental bird deaths go hunting and deliberately kill animals, for a fun day out.

I suppose. What's that got to do with whether windmills are actually killing birds? If I need to pick one, I'll pick the one that actually produces large amounts of quality energy. That is not windmills.

Solar power, China is building solar farms at s blisteringly rate.

OK, first Dr. Trump claims that windmills cause cancer, now he claims to have seen piles of dead bald eagles underneath them:

And before you all get pissed off about the source, the video of him saying this is also at the link.

Non Compos Mentits

The man has gone completely around the bend.

Spare us the fake concern for birds, too, Doctor Trump.

Trump's spawn do. So do Republicans. "Christian" churches in the south gleefully host bird slaughters for fun.

For a "Republican" to pretend to care about animals is just plain mind-numbingly stupid.

No one except Trump is saying it's either/or. We'll be using gas for a long time, regardless of whether a windmill ever kills another bird.

I'm not sinking bunch of time into it, but a quick search suggests we aren't really spending that much. Heck, $92 million/year?

That's ~2% of a border wall or ~4 new jet fighters. Hardly flipping over the budget desk, and on a technology with such potential efficiency?

And "big" is a relative term, especially if some of the stats others have provided are accurate.

Regardless, you aren't here to save any birds, any more than I am.

I'm not here to save birds but neither did I create this thread. The implication was that bird deaths from windmills are irrelevant simply because Trump brought them up. I think wind power is virtually useless with today's energy needs but that is a separate subject. Anyway, I appreciate the rational dialogue.

I saw the chart. Yea, cell towers and windows kill more birds than windmills. So what? Nobody is making an argument against that fact. The only point is that windmills kill a lot of birds on their own.

Oh please. That's the dumbest thing I've seen in here. Yea, all Republicans don't have pets and are just itching to shoot animals whenever they can. That's just dopey.

Not only that but he also claimed, again, that if the wind doesn't blow you won't watch TV at night.

I was wondering why Trump has set out now multiple times to make crazy false claims about windmills. Is has to be something about windmills that wronged him, right? Right!

Scottish government wins Donald Trump wind power legal costs - BBC News

Donald Trump's Aberdeenshire golf resort must pay the Scottish government's legal costs following a court battle over a major North Sea wind power development.

Mr Trump battled unsuccessfully in the courts to halt the project before he became US president.

A total of 11 turbines make up the development off Aberdeen.

Judges have now ruled Trump International Golf Club Scotland Ltd should pay the legal bills incurred.

Mr Trump had argued the development would spoil the view from his golf course at Menie.

The ruling at the Court of Session stemmed from the case going to the UK Supreme Court in December 2015.

The sum involved has not been disclosed.

Developed by Swedish energy group Vattenfall, the wind farm generated its first power in July last year.

He doesn't give a **** if windmills truly did cause cancer (which they don't), if he sees millions of dead birds (which he didn't), or that they won't power your house if the wind doesn't blow (which doesn't happen), it's all about HIM personally. Business as usual.

What does one have to do with the other? Hunting is regulated, not indiscriminate. They are two completely different topics. Many hunters are also conservationists and environmental advocates.

Solar power, China is building solar farms at s blisteringly rate.

Solar is superior to wind in most every way but still inferior to natural gas, oil and nuclear power. We aren't getting off of fossil fuels anytime in the forseeable future but we can supplement them.

Yeah, right. Who cares if it's regulated? It's completely unnecessary and killing animals for fun is abhorrent.

You'd actually have to walk a little at a windmill site to see dead birds piled up. No way in hell President Lard Ass could make the trip to one windmill let alone many. And why would he? There's no money in it for him.

Not to mention, he surely wouldn’t want to expose himself to catching the cancer germ they emit.

Most hunters vote Republican. That's a fact. Or have you not been paying attention to the ongoing debates about guns?

Correct, the more they are supplemented the less we have to rely on a finite product. I think we can eventually replace most fossil fuel use, but technically were are not there yet.

But, how many of those piles of dead bald eagles also have windmill cancer!

The problem for Trump is that renewal energy is a threat to the oil and gas companies who love to throw lots of money at their candidates.

What do they know, right? Free energy, that's what. Wind power generation is increasing exponentially everywhere. Denmark, for example; 39% of her energy is generated by the wind.

Wind power by country - Wikipedia

It sure is, and you have small countries like Costa Rica that are getting a ton of energy from renewable energy, they are doing it right.

What does more damage to the environment, wind power or coal? (extraction, transport, burning)

It is always amazing how the right just has a knee jerk negative reaction to any renewable energy. It doesn't matter if you don't like it, because wind, wave and solar energy are getting better every day, and they are here to stay.

Windmills are a hedge, his real money is in oil and property.
