Liberal law prof dismantles Dem contempt case against Barr

They see what they want to see and are prepared with a backup plan when shown to be wrong. That part about backup plans will continue regardless of how outrageous they get. We've seen that too.

Some are delusional, most are willful liars.

How many days passed from the time Barr went before the Senate Judiciary and dropped several bombshells and was held in contempt by the House Judiciary? Was it even 10?

And since Barr's appearance before the Senate Judiciary, Comey has written a scathing hit piece directed at Barr and Rosenstein, has done multiple radio and TV interviews spewing the same stuff. Comey knows he is in trouble and is now out there trying to get ahead of what he knows is coming by adding to the character assassination of Barr and Rosenstein.

Yep it's fear.

Comey would be better to keep his mouth shut at this point.
Wonder how much he is getting paid by the liberal media to act like a saint?

Left-leaning law professor Jonathan Turley -- who has stood out in recent years as a rare legal analyst unwilling to allow his political views to cloud his constitutional judgments -- has written an absolutely devastating column addressing House Democrats' efforts to hold Attorney General Bill Barr in contempt of Congress
Democrats showing contempt by holding William Barr in contempt | TheHill
The problem is that the contempt action against Barr is long on action and short on contempt. Indeed, with a superficial charge, the House could seriously undermine its credibility in the ongoing conflicts with the White House...As someone who has represented the House of Representatives, my concern is that this one violates a legal version of the Hippocratic oath to “first do no harm.” This could do great harm, not to Barr, but to the House. It is the weakest possible case to bring against the administration, and likely to be an example of a bad case making bad law for the House...Barr promised to release as much of the report as possible, and he has delivered. Indeed, he is not expressly given the authority to release the confidential report. Yet, he not only released it but declared executive privilege waived on its content.

Boy can the Dems look any dummmmmmmmmmmmmmer?
LAFF-yea they'll figure out a way.

Yes they can...give em a minute.

Projection much? You've been lobbing ad homs at me since you entered this thread.

Red herring.
Disagreeing with your pov is not ad homs.

Hey! I have them categorized too! Alphabetized by names.

Lots of lists floating around this forum lately. I thought I was on Luckyone's top 20 list for being ignored but found out last night I wasn't on it.
I guess he was just angry at me because I won't stop supporting Trump and my country.

Well, if you really wanted to look closely enough, you could make a Venn diagram for just about any two groups. It doesn't mean they're necessarily alike in any meaningful way.

Oh I am not disputing that at all.

He also threw Strozk and Page under the bus.

I noticed those lists too. Really really hurtful lists. Like "Watches Fox News" or "These people patronize Tucker Carlson sponsors."

This potential contempt case is so sad for one glaring reason. Ok, well many, but the most amusing is that if brought, even the DC circuit (The most liberal in the nation) will have no choice but to dismiss in summary.. ;)

That's very telling.

Maybe he will finally shut up when he hears the words, "you have a right to remain silent". :)

Even if the suit is unsuccessful, it keeps the fact in the news that the Trump administration is not cooperating with Congress's constitutional responsibility to provide oversight.

Do you believe the House’s oversight is unlimited?

I fully believe this is all an attempt to derail Barr and his findings, because they knew damn well it's going to hit the fan when he delves into their party and the FBI, and it's misdeeds.

I would bet a bunch that Barr never "delves into their party and the FBI, and it's misdeeds"; at least not more than superficially, and he will never "find" anything of substance, because there is nothing.

Yes it's fear.

I suspect, part of that fear includes knowing that he will be needing some extra money in the bank for the Lawyers he will need to defend him.

Yes, he should be keeping his mouth shut at this point.

The liberal media may not be paying him enough for the Lawyers he will need to defend his self-appointed sainthood.
