A quiz for trump supporters

Which of the following are cases of 'witch hunts' and baseless allegations, based on an agenda to lie?

1. Five young men convicted for the Central Park mugging and rape are proven innocent by DNA evidence and released. But someone says they are STILL guilty and should be executed, who paid for full page ads in four New York papers to demand the death penalty be restored in the law for them.

2. Someone spends years creating national news with false claims that Barack Obama was born in Kenya, not Hawaii, so he's not actually president, saying they had private investigators find 'amazing' proof of those claims. Now, he refuses to talk about his claims.

3. Someone said they watched thousands of Muslim people in New Jersey dancing for joy in the streets on 9/11/01 seeing the attack, which thorough research has shown completely false.

4. Someone leads thousands of people at rallies for years with chants to put his political rival in prison, chanting 'lock her up', after she was investigate by the FBI and cleared of crimes.

5. The FBI receives reports from a diplomat of Russian interference in our presidential election, and receives intelligence confirmation of such interference to favor one of the candidates, whose campaign is confirmed to have been contacts but which has reported nothing to the FBI about the contacts, while the favored candidate is entirely praising of Putin, to investigate the Russian activities and whether the campaign is conspiring for the help.

okay, I'll bite.

1. One is not proven innocent of anything, one is proven guilty of something. In our society, at least in principle, one is innocent until proven guilty. In the case of the Central Park Five the confession of the actual rapist shows they were wrongly convicted of rape. However, the teens had also been convicted of other charges of assault and battery and there was evidence presented showing that they were involved in the commission of those violent crimes.

2. While it is true Trump was a believer in the birth certificate issue, recall a couple of facts. One is that the original "rumor" was started by members of the Clinton campaign to undermine the Obama campaign. Two, that Obama's own half-brother Malik Obama claimed that Obama was born in Kenya, even providing a copy of a "forged" birth document. Many people (I was never among them) may still believe this story, but Trump abandoned that story back in 2016. Full Flop: Donald Trump abandons Barack Obama birther conspiracy | PolitiFact

3. Many people actually thought Muslims were "celebrating in the streets" over 9/11, and there had been reports it was occurring in a Muslim section of Jersey City. I was living and working in NYC at the time and remember being inundated with such reports. It was a confusing and shocking time, and we were hearing and seeing all sorts of mis-reporting and speculation; including reports with video showing Muslims celebrating the attack. Small wonder Trump made this statement. Thanks to confusing news reports, many of us believed it was happening at the time. This Is the Footage Donald Trump Thinks He Saw on 9/11

4. Yes, there were rallies with chants of "lock her up." Typical political grandstanding. How are they different from all the efforts to "lock up" the President based on false reports of conspiracy, or the actions of the Democrats in their races or in Congress? It's just political theater.

5. It was no secret that Trump wanted better relations with Russia. Many of us did and still do after the Soviet Union fell and the new government came into existence. Gone are the days of fear of the Red Threat. IMO there is nothing wrong with trying to reduce tensions and improve relations, even with nations like China and North Korea that pose an ongoing threat. So while I agree that Putin is becoming a problem, IMO it is one that the Russian's themselves have to deal with eventually. I think they will. Meanwhile I don't see any problem with attempt to de-escalate tensions to make it easier to reach diplomatic compromises whenever we can.

1. Fact - Trump vilified 5 black youths, not yet tried or convicted, and demanded they be executed.

2. Fact - Trump was the chief promoter of the birther movement.

3. Fact - Trump lied when he said there were Muslims dancing in the streets in NJ on 9/11.

4. Fact - “Typical political grandstanding” at political rallies doesn’t include loud, prolonged chants of “lock her (or him) up!”, or accusations of treason, coups, or conspiracies.

5. Fact - Members of Trump’s campaign met over 100 times with Russians and did, according to Mueller’s report, expect to benefit from Russia’s interference”.

I might need to start a 'disingenuous of the day' award.

Let's just take #5. This has NOTHING to do with 'better relations with Russia' (but boy, did you righties scream when Obama was heard saying he'd have more flexibility to improve relations after the 2012 election.) This has nothing to do with a 'fear of the red threat' or 'reducing tensions'. It has to do with the FBI doing its job investigating Russian interference in our election and their unreported contacts with the trump campaign (contacts that have led to convictions).

What a bunch of BS. Both sides can come up with select stories to post.

That's seen as a huge positive, it's how he gained street cred with his base.

Birtherism was why so many Republicans liked Trump in the first place

From less than 1 1/2 years ago:
The birther blemish: Republicans still think Barack Obama was born in Kenya
Republicans have an opinion about the 44th president, and it's not a pretty one

Hell, even Trump agrees with me. From the above link:
“I don't think I went overboard,” Trump said in 2013. “Actually, I think it made me very popular. . . . I do think I know what I'm doing.”

As I've always said, give Trump credit, he recognized right from the git go that the USA was still a very racist country, and that he could exploit this racism for personal gain.

Good lord. That you actually spent time pounding keys to say such silly things brings much fruit to the table on defining TDS: Trump Devotion Sickness.

1. You completely papered over him calling for the death penalty for five innocent (yes they were innocent of the crime in question) men.

2. B...b...but Hillary!

3. “Many people actually thought...” Is that really your defense?

4. You haven’t read the Mueller report; have you?

5. Oh my. Yes TDS.

Racist, sexist and stupid. Trump played that trifecta and won.

Let's talk about part of this one, since this is the one you really care about, right?

If you look at the House testimony from Papadoupolus, the actions of that diplomat and others in contact with Papadoupolus is very suspicious. All of those people can be traced to either the FBI, the CIA or friendly foreign intelligence agencies. This raises credible questions into why all these people were talking to a young, unpaid member of the Trump campaign who ended up not doing much of anything for the campaign.

Why did Mifsud, a supposed Russian agent, who had connections with the FBI and the CIA, who had connections to Hillary Clinton, seek out Papadoupolus and give him a story that he never substantiated...namely that Russia had dirt on Hillary?

Why did an Australian female agent seek out Papadoupolus, ask him about Russians having Hillary emails and suggest he meet with Downer...who happens to be that diplomat you speak of? And why did Downer stick a phone in Papadoupolus' face and ask him what he knows about Russians having Hillary emails?

There is much more we know...that nobody is talking about...for example, someone asks Papadoupolus, out of the blue, to go to Israel with him and who just "gives" him $10,000. When George returns to the US, even before he gets to customs, he is immediately apprehended by the FBI, they search his luggage, and fail to find the money. You see, George left the money in Cyprus. This happened during the Mueller investigation.

Seriously, it doesn't take wearing a tin foil hat to look at this and, at the least, come to the conclusion that this needs to be looked at a lot more closely. It seems Mueller wasn't able to even notice the stink coming off this. He didn't ask ANY questions about this. Given his reputation and his work history, this failure of his can only be described as deliberate.

And this is just ONE PART of the actions by the Obama administration and by the Mueller investigation team. There are a lot of other very suspicious and unethical actions...all directed against Trump and his people...that are being ignored.

Yeah...I'd call that whole shebang a witch hunt.

I listed all five and will respond to any. Right at the start, you are parroting trump spin minimizing the roles of people who become inconvenient. Papadoupolus? Who? Except that he was one of trump's five top foreign policy advisers in the campaign, who trump named.

Chief 'fixer' lawyer for years Cohen? One of hundreds of lawyers, did very little. Campaign chairman? Barely met him. You just parrot trump's spin, and that's why it wasnt' worth reading the rest of your post.

Not sure what point you're trying to make, but that's like saying Hillary can't play for the NBA. It's not that she can't legally, it's that she seems unable to do it.

You really don't know anything about Papadoupolus, do you? He didn't advise **** for Trump. Heck, the thing he WANTED to do, he failed at. I'll bet you don't even know what that was, do you?

Jesus...I hate talking to people who won't even educate themselves on what they talk about. You are wasting my time.

You are dismissed.

Re: A quiz for trump supporters

He didn't advise **** for Trump.

You should learn a bit about what you try to talk about. The question isn't how much Papadoupolus did - trump has a huge turnover of bad people, incompetent, corrupt, criminal some who do little - but that he was one of the five people trump named as his foreign policy advisers during his campaign. At the time of the reports.

So your argument is, one of trump's five named advisers, the FBI says 'but we doubt he'll do much, ignore this'.

You're the waste of time to bother with, spouting nonsense and parroting trump's nonsense.
