What does that have to do with the fact that Trump's campaign strategy is designed for his base being largely composed of cowardly racists?
I've never understood that about his base. They get all upset when they're called racists, but Trump has made it clear to the world that he considers the base racists, and they're fine with it. I understand why he thinks that:
White nationalists mark Trump win with Nazi salute
Them Neo Nazis and KKK, they love them some Trump, don't they?
And he wants to keep them happy, so he defends them:
Trump Defends White-Nationalist Protesters: 'Some Very Fine People'
And they sure appreciate it:
Neo-Nazis Praise Trump's Charlottesville Reaction: 'He Loves Us All'
Yep, with Trump it's just one big racist love-in, isn't it.
Of course, he did gain his street cred with the base by being leader of the racist Birther Movement, so nobody is really surprised, are they?
