Why? Because he is a hack.

Here's someone explaining that in a more eloquent fashion.

After Attorney General William Barr releases his redacted version of the report from special counsel Robert Mueller on Thursday, he should resign. His blatant partisanship disqualifies him from continuing as the chief law enforcement officer of the United States. Neither Congress nor the public will trust that he has been objective and fair in what he has decided to make public of the report, nor will they believe that he can handle any further issues surrounding wrongdoing by President Trump with integrity.

Let us consider the record of Barr in his short time as attorney general in this administration...according to Barr, Mueller refused to exonerate Trump on charges of obstructing justice. Barr overruled that determination after only a few short days of examining the two year investigation into the issue and concluded that Trump did not obstruct justice. Barr claimed that the refusal by Mueller to come to a conclusion on the criminal liability for obstruction “left it up to” Barr to reach a conclusion. But that cannot be true. The refusal by Mueller to exonerate Trump was not an invitation for Barr to annul the determination of the special counsel.

By exonerating Trump, Barr brazenly violated the spirit and purpose of the special counsel regulations. The point of those rules, and the special prosecutor statute they replaced, was to take the political Justice Department out of prosecutorial decision making when a president was involved, precisely because presidents should not be investigating themselves. Yet Barr, appointed by Trump, injected himself along with politics smack into that decision, doing what would be expected of anyone beholden to the president. That was wrong and unforgivable.

Why William Barr should resign | TheHill

Obviously, no one with an ounce of intelligence believes a single thing Barr says these days.

I'll withhold judgement until after the report drops. And then I'll wait until I hear from Mueller and his staff testifiy before the Senate and the House.

Without a AG who is independent of the President and solely focused on his job enforcing the rule of law our freedom and liberties are severely threatened. Barr must be removed by Congress for violating his oath of office.

Actually, the reason for the special prosecutor is to take the DOJ out of the investigative process. The decision whether to prosecute is ultimately the decision of the AG.

Barr is just doing his job in accordance with the law.

Oh the hypocrisy!
Most of the Trump haters have put their undying faith behind the Mueller investigation for the last two years even when it was rumored Trump would fire Mueller... So now they don't like the Mueller report results, and their next step is to throw a temper tantrum demanding Bill Barr resign.

Oh waaa, waaa, waaa....boohoo boo :boohoo::boohoo::boohoo:

You do realize--but, maybe you don't--that no one with any intelligence, for one second, believes that the Mueller report exonerates Trump, nor do they believe that an innocent person obstructs justice in a case where he did nothing wrong. So, spew away. No one who matters is buying. But, you are certainly free to preach to the choir.

I hear the democrats had a pre-meltdown this evening on CNN ...

Im going to wait for the indictments of FBI people, DoJ people, etc. there are quite a few of them. That’s when we will get our real answers from.

But at least now all the dem’s can do is try to harass the president through 2020 on to 2024... then I guess they will try to burn his house down! Meanwhile, no one is doing the people’s business.

Oh, it will be so much fun when the GOP is relegated to about 20 senators and fewer than a hundred Congressmen with Buttigieg or Warren as president. Trump has set enough precedent that maybe locking up wing nuts will become as acceptable as locking up Mexicans.

I'm sure you said the same thing when Eric (I'm his wingman) Holder was in office.

I'll withold Judgement as to whether or not Trump is a greater scumbag than I ever imagined, but not withold judgement on Barr, he's acting as Trump's "Michael Cohen", and that ain't right.

I don't remember Obama's people going to prison or Obama having anything to do with any investigation.

Unlike some, I will withhold judgement till the report is released to the public.

And Congress's duty to obtain the full and complete work product of the Special Counsel, because, beyond illegality, there may be relevant information about whether or not Trump is a threat to America's national security and it is therefore Congress's duty to uphold the constitution and get this information (if it is there, and no, Barr's word is not good enough ) so they can decide the proper course of action. Information may be, due to national security concerns, be withheld from the public, but not to the intel committee ( and any other appropriate committee ).

[ childish verbiage removed ]

and you know this, how? I don't recall anyone on the left saying they don't like the report results, given that THEY HAVE NOT SEEN IT.

Accusing your opponent of a temper tantrum when the subject of the concern (Trump) is or may be a threat to national security is rather an impotent argument.

Sucks that those Congressional hacks can't get information that is forbidden them by law, isn't it?

Congress can have the full and complete work product of the Special Counsel that the law allows.

"the attorney general had outlined four categories of information that would be redacted:
(1) material subject to Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 6(e) that by law cannot be made public; (2) material the intelligence community identifies as potentially compromising sensitive sources and methods; (3) material that could affect other ongoing matters, including those that the Special Counsel has referred to other Department offices; and (4) information that would unduly infringe on the personal privacy and reputational interests of peripheral third parties."

1. Rofl

2. It's not going to happen.

3. Barr is operating literally in his proper and official capacity. Now people doing their jobs is unacceptable to the left. Bless your hearts.

Dream on, calamity, dream on ... :lamo

We can only hope it remains Calamity's dream.
'Cause it sounds like the ultimate leftists dream come true, 'Toe the leftist political line, or shut up, or we'll incarcerate you!'

You might laugh, but as we speak, the leftists are equating legitimate criticism of their public statements, policies, and positions as 'attacks', as incitement to violence, as hate speech, which the government is mandated to punish; to silence.

So, not that far off at all, really.

Since when are Democrats concerned about complying with the law when they want something?
Especially if they perceive it to be to their political advantage?

Yes Holder was an effective wingman. Plus the press did not go after Obama folks as they do with this administration.

When hard core partisan hackery is directed at Barr, it shows he should stay.
