The liberals have it right, we CAN improve most things.

Conservatives, on the other hand, are so fearful of losing their majority and grip on power that they want to return to the 1950s, which most of them consider to have been idyllic. Of course, none of them has any desire to return to the Eisenhower tax code, the few that even understand that. I'm gonna let you google that for yourself if you don't already know, just so you can't bitch about my sources being biased.

I am not interested enough in your opinion about Trump to go searching through the thread for what you have previously posted. If you want to make your point to me, post the explicit link of his unedited unredacted comments within their reasonably full context stating what you say he said and explain how that goes beyond expressing a person opinion.

Does he tell people not to go to NFL games? Or does he suggest that if people boycott the NFL until they stop an unacceptable practice, the NFL will stop the unacceptable practice. Does he tell the NFL to fire anybody? That would be an order. Or does he say that is what should happen? That is an expressed opinion.

There is a difference between organizing, ordering, urging people to do something and expressing an opinion about what should happen.

I frequently say that if the NY Times or WAPO or any of the other MSM lose enough readers or viewers and thereby start incurring advertising revenue loss, maybe they'll start doing actual competent and honest journalism again. That is expressing an opinion or even a hope. It is not organizing anybody to punish any component of the MSM.

There are about 350 million Americans. How many immigrants? About 47 million, or a whopping 14%+ percent. Were all of your ancestors natives? Or were at least some of them immigrants from somewhere?

Most of mine came from Ireland during the potato famine, and wow! were they ever NOT wanted here at the time. Now, some of their own descendants are whining the loudest about this influx of small, brown, Catholic people. The fear of these people on the part of the right is most definitely NOT logical.

My doing that is literally how this pointless exchange started. You immediately went into full denial model and have apparently forgotten the contents of the previous page of this thread.

An opinion that gay marriage is wrong can be argued entirely logically and rationally however. An opinion that gay marriage is the natural result of the natural attraction of two men to each other or two women to each other and can be the moral choice can also be argue entirely logically and rationally.

But it is also logical and rational to conclude that people can hold opposing views on that or any other subject, and their arguments are not necessarily wrong and/or the person holding an opposing opinion is not automatically stupid, dishonest, evil, intolerant, self-serving etc. etc. etc.

In the sphere of public policy, the better argument usually wins out. We only create huge problems for ourselves as a society when we do not allow any debate at all but demonize those who disagree with us.

I think you're way off base on this one. Since something is deemed "logical" by means of reasoning conducted by a human being, it is subjective in nature, just as reality is subjective, so is logic. Reality is subjective because perception is reality. Empirical evidence is information that verifies the truth (which accurately corresponds to reality) or falsity (inaccuracy) of a claim. In the empiricist view, one can claim to have knowledge only when based on empirical evidence. This stands in contrast to the rationalist view under which reason or reflection alone is considered evidence for the truth or falsity of some propositions.

Knowingly passing HIV to someone in California is currently a severe crime, and the left is actively trying to reduce the severity of this crime. Why?

UNLESS (in the spirit of intellectual honesty) the partner KNOWS he/she is being exposed and willingly consents to the risk. I don't know how the current law is written, but that would make a difference in how I saw this new legislation.

However, if somebody knows he/she is HIV positive or has any other communicable disease qualifying as a STD and does not inform his/her partner prior to having sex, that should be a Class A felony akin to attempted murder.

Let me paint a picture for you about the gay community, why they are gay, and why their quest for equal rights should have little to no effect on you, on anyone.

Picture a field full of clovers. Most clovers, something like 99%, are three leaf clovers. But one out of thousands might be a four leaf clover, like this:

Being homosexual is pretty much entirely a genetic situation, people are born with homosexual tendencies.
Now ask yourself, do those four leaf clovers ever take over a field and turn the entire field into four leaf clovers?
Of course not. Despite millions of years in existence, the majority of clovers remain three leaf and the four leaf variety remains a standard deviation from the norm. It has always been that way and it will always remain that way. Despite millennia, human beings, and even the animal kingdom, has remained mostly heterosexual but in both, there has always been a small standard deviation in the homosexual direction.

Granting homosexuals equal rights isn't going to "turn the human race gay". No one is going to "catch the gay GERM and succumb to homosexuality" because it is not in their genetic disposition to do so.

And the reason we're hearing so much more about the issue is because the gay community is pushing back against discrimination. They are vocal, they are outspoken and they are organizing and consolidating their power, which they should if they wish to be heard.

I disagree with you slightly, the HIV case that i keep bringing up most certainly is the doing of the lgbt community. Reducing the crime of knowingly spreading diseases to other people is a great example of their impact. Now the entire state of California has been compromised.

It actually came about due to a number of groups, many having nothing to do with LGBT. The law changed with the new law was passed during the height of the HIV/AIDS scare, and with changes in medical science and awareness of the issues, the law was modernized. Don't let facts get in the way of your emotional rant though. Logic is not on your side, nor are facts.
