Does the left and the right primarily disagree about lgbt issues?

I'm laughing so hard, I can hardly type a response.

Anyone else want to point out to Ecofarm that in his search for Waldo, he found some guy named "Weldo?"

I don't have that many ankle biters, people who come into threads only to attack me (see also: Smallvoice). And two with very similar names? Not my fault.

You should learn what protected class means. It's embarrassing for an adult to have no idea what it means.

So why don't you do something about being so embarrassed?

What is LGBT rights?
Can they vote?
Can they hold property?
Can they get married?
Can they own a business?
Can they buy goods and food at the stores as others?
Do they get the same education as others do?
What right do they not have?

apparently some of them (hint, the T, for transgender) don't have the right to be in the military, or to use the correct bathroom for their gender. and the Trump administration has tried, unsuccessfully thank goodness, to rollback workplace protections for the entire LGBT community.

Please don't claim i am trolling, i'm trying to understand.

The lgbt issue seems to be the main rift throughout the world, and I've been to 15 countries.

The left appears to be for marginalized people (take your pick), and the right is about individual rights and tradition. These things are not mutually exclusive so what is the fight over?

You can be gay, i can be straight and we can co-exist in peace.

I love all people, but being indifferent is now becoming synonymous with homophobia, i think most people just don't care.

Am i far off?

I am a citizen of two countriea, Sweden and the the UK. In neither are attitudes to lgbt issues separated along left/right lines. So I think your 'throughout the world' bit is quite wrong.

More generally the left is all about the collective, and enforcing conformity. The right about the individual. Which is why I see descriptions such as 'Left Libertarian' as contradictory.

Nope, not wrong, it’s a small group of people on the internet that drive this crap...that is all.

Using the correct bathroom, is matter of genitalia not the gender they think they are.
I can understand the beef with being barred from military service. Is that an all ban or is it like just being banned from special forces or holding top secret clearances etc?
I do remember hearing some concerns about mental health and the VA having to pay for sex change operations Which id have to say of course the VA and the tax payers should NOT have to pay for sex change ops. Is there scientific evidence and consensus to back up claims of mental health?

I don't think it's up to me or you to decide whether or not it's "genitalia not the gender". The concern on the right tends to be with having "men in women's restrooms", but the trans community is certainly way less known for their sexual indiscretion than the Republican party, so....

The military service ban is a full ban - which of course is unenforceable, essentially. It'll be just like homosexuals during the Don't Ask, Don't Tell ****, they'll just have to hide it, which is easy enough if they haven't started the transition, although, I'm sure it's not at all fun.

Trump'''s controversial transgender military policy goes into effect

There are certainly concerns about mental health, and due to the way the VA and military healthcare works, it has been possible for reassignment surgery to be covered. While, I would agree that some of the ideas and policies we've had with transgender people may not be perfect, we work under the best understanding we have at the time, not a concern for peoples' traditionalist views. As such, assisting a transgender person to transition and be the person they feel that they are has been the policy.

Well my opinion on genitalia in bathroom stands.
However I think if they are mentally capable to serve and want to serve they should be allowed to. And if conservatives want to ban sex ops changes from being covered they should be able write that in the bill, sounds easy enough.

And when i am proven right what will you say then? Some stupid **** like usual probably.

Is that how you sleep at night? "Just wait, you'll see, I'm not an idiot!"

Good luck with that.

Nothing's ever easy... in Congress.

It's not a strawman.

That's praising the Nazis, busting out of pic of a black guy in a Nazi uniform, and praising Rense.

I see now. Different name. Same routine.

Wow, still crying that you couldn't even beat Rense... it must suck to be you ecofarm.

Thanks for not being bent about the confusion. Good luck with that champion.

I like it, but should the lgbt community paint the normies as the enemy, when we are just living our lives? By definition, the lgbt community is not normal.

Looks like you ignored my four leaf clover reference. In fact, you did ignore it because you never responded to it.
I know of no gay people who paint heterosexuals as the enemy, unless those particular heteros are trying to make them miserable.

In my business, I was accustomed to being around gay people all day long.
This business I was in (still am in my old age - just more around the periphery now) is kind of a gay mecca.

Good luck with your next NAMBLA meeting.

But if lying about me is all you have. Then I do hope you manage to stay on that particular wagon for longer this time.

No millions on both sides support equal rights
if a person doesn't support equal rights theres no guarantee they are on the right but even if they are they are not representative of the right.
trying to paint the left or the right as a collective will almost always lead to failure. Maybe come to america and properly study american politics

for the most part people dont care about those bothered by equal rights . . overall equal rights is winning and bigotry is losing and that will continue.
