Criticizing Bigotry is not an Attack on Faith

If your faith supports a particular bigotry then attacking that bigotry is, in part, an attack on that faith. And I am perfectly fine with that.

Actually, attacking homosexuality under the guise of Christianity is a bigoted attack on Christ's teaching. In short, pretending that Christianity justifies homophobia is an attack on what could be a beautiful religion.

100% correct pointing out bigotry is not an attack on faith, hell its not even a factual attack on that person.
Bigotry has a definition and thats pretty much that.

Is there a negative connotation that comes with the word at times? of course but that doesnt make it always the case.

just like the word cult, by deifniotn, ALL religions are a cult but that word has a negative connotation so some people don't like it.

Mike Pence, the person, is by definition a bigot :shrug:

Pence was on the ticket, he'll be on the ticket in 2020, he's as fair game as anyone in POLITICS and running for President is a POLITICAL event. You're whining about politicians inserting politics in their political activities. It's hilarious really.

The idea of marriage equality to include people of the same sex was never even an idea until the progressives forced it on everyone. Marriage had a fixed definition: one man-one woman. Calling anything else a marriage is like calling a watermelon a grapefruit. You can call it a grapefruit all you want but it will never be one. What if multiple people want to get married? We certainly can't stop that because everyone must be treated equally according to the left. IOW, marriage is fairly meaningless because any two or more people who want to live together can now claim the sanction of "marriage".

No temper tantrum, just a statement of fact. The left must result to ad hominem attacks or lose the argument. They've pretty well rendered most of these terms ineffectual now that everything they dislike qualifies as racism or bigotry.

Baloney. Opposing gay marriage isn't an attack on Christianity. It is an affirmation that you stand by its laws. Nor is it homophobia which is an unreasoning hatred of gays solely because they are gay. Pence has never made any personal attack on Buttigieg.

It's simple. For Christians, or most any religious people, marriage has ONE definition and it supercedes anything that people now call a marriage out of convenience and the urge to blow up established tradition simply because they can. Call two dogs a marriage if you feel like it.

It's not bigotry. It's a moral code. Just because other people don't have the same moral code doesn't make them right and religious people wrong. Progressives always assume they know everything for some reason.

That is the ONLY reason, none other. A million people have great talking points for Democrats. That is not the basis of his popularity. If that was irrelevant it would be brought up in every blog, MSM presentation or the press about him. Other than being a gay guy running for president, he's a nobody who has done nothing.
