cheat at golf, cheat in life.

Everyone with a functioning brain knows that Trump is a conman. He's a liar and a cheat and will do anything to make himself look better and his "enemies" worse. There is no "bottom of the barrel" with Trump, he has no scruples, no morals, no hesitation to go as low as possible.

This is known.

That's what is so confusing to me when I see his supporters in real life. Like, online I can't tell if they really believe him or are just f-in with me but when you see the people at the rally, who are really mostly middle class white people, that truly believe in his as a person and their president, it's like what the hell are you not seeing about this man????

... President Trump’s extremely casual attitude toward the rules of the game are a reflection on his presidency as a whole. ...“What really bothers me is that he told people on the campaign trail . . . he said, ‘I’m a winner; you got to vote for me because I’ve won 18 club championships’ — he says this three or four times — ‘and that’s against the best players in the club.’ But I knew he was lying because he told me how he does it. Whenever he opens a new course that he buys, he plays the first round by himself and calls that the club championship, puts his name on the wall.”

We do know that Trump played in the 2007 Westchester Men’s Club Championship and was knocked out in the first round by a 15-year-old named Adam Levin. Trump was four-up with five holes to play, helped greatly by the 60-year-old calling two ticky-tack rule violations on the kid, one for accidentally touching the grass inside a hazard and one for fixing a small ball mark off the green, both loss-of-hole penalties. That’s when, according to Levin, Trump said to the small gallery, “The kid put up a good fight, didn’t he?” A small bonfire lit under Levin, who wound up winning hole after hole, tying Trump up through 18 and then winning on the second playoff hole. “He didn’t even say ‘Congratulations’ or ‘Good match,’” remembers Levin, now a data analyst. “He didn’t look me in the eye. He just shook my hand and walked off. He’d kind of been a diick the whole day. We were together for five or six hours, so there was plenty of time for conversation with me or my parents, but all he ever said was, ‘Isn’t this course fantastic?’ and ‘Aren’t these facilities the best?’ He’s a total a$shole with no character.”

as one reader pondered:
I wonder which numbers are more inaccurate; the numbers on Trump’s golf scorecard, or the numbers on his tax returns?

It's not that they don't quite see it, I think it's more that they don't care. Only the truly blind and/or stupid do not see these things. But we're in Revenge Politics, we have been for some time. And people need Revenge against 8 years of Obama and they'll take it where they can get it. It's Trump, so they'll carry water for him. They'll make up narratives, ignore reality, spin propaganda to exalt him.

I get that, but wouldn't you be embarrassed to carry water for a limp old liar like Trump? The Trumperor has no clothes, but his supporters pretend he does. I'm still baffled...

It's a party game. The Republocrats have made the system so hyperpartisan, so toxic, that each side does nothing more than run around carrying water for whomever they need to at that moment. Some of the more intelligent ones may actually be embarrassed for having to do it, but they won't stop doing it. Party party party party, that's all it's about anymore. No one thinks, no one debates, no one tries to compromise. Party party party party. This is what the Republocrats have made of our system since capturing it.

This too is obvious.

i have a number of friends like that. it's surprising and eye-opening. my brother's response is "what's wrong with him?" ... as if it is not made obvious by each day's news
we argued too much that way when we were young, i refuse to indulge him when we are both in our 60s

That's not surprising. I used to play a lot of golf, and there's one thing EVERYONE who played just despised and it was cheaters. They ruin any game they're a part of, because you can't bet, can't have a competition of any kind, unless you also follow the person around to make sure they don't kick the ball out of a bad lie, drop one in the woods just in bounds instead of out, etc. so guys like that just didn't get invited to play.

That infraction about fixing a ball mark off the green is just as bad as cheating. It's technically prohibited, but people do it out of respect for the COURSE and players behind them and it's just not called by people who want an honest competition, unless that mark is directly between the ball and the hole, which never happens. Touching grass in a hazard depends, but the rule is intended to prevent grounding the club in a hazard, and normal people interpret it in that light, not whether in a practice swing you clip the top of a blade of grass 2 feet from the ball.

So of course Trump cheats and then hypocritically demands everyone playing against him adhere to the letter without regard to intent of rules. It's such an apt metaphor that it almost seems cheap somehow.

Hysterical TDS'er on line, explains the mental struggles in real life.

In real life, everyone hates liars and cheaters, and Trump is both. It's also worse in golf because the game requires integrity to play with other people in competition. There are no referees or people enforcing the rules and everyone is expected to call penalties on themselves. I don't put golf up on any kind of pedestal, it's just a game, but cheaters crap on the integrity of the game, the nature of the sport by doing it. IME cheating at golf does reflect the person pretty well. Never known of a cheater who's a decent person IRL.

Well said, people who cheat at golf are not trustworthy people.

Revenge may just be part of it. I think most of them realize Trump is a very unsavory character, but hold their nose and vote for him anyway because he is accomplishing their agenda: the Wall Street types for their tax cuts, the Evangelicals for the anti-abortion judges, the racists for the immigration policies, etc....

I know Iranian-Americans who voted for him because of his tough foreign policy stance against the current Iranian regime which they hate. There are Cuban Americans who voted for him because they didn’t want better relations with the Cuban regime. They know he hates immigrants in general, but it doesn’t seem to matter to them. It’s about the individual issues. The character makes no difference.

All that stuff about draining the swamp was just slogans. They don’t mind dragging in the creature from the blue lagoon into the White House, as long as he eats their enemies.

Yes, you have it: Trump Devotion Sickness; how's that going for you? I hear it's incurable. I don't want to get written up so I'll leave you to your "mental struggles".

But seriously, cheating at golf? Don Vito tRump has no shame.

I strongly believe that lying and cheating are so deeply pathologically ingrained in Trump's psyche that he has no concept of morality, decency or what truth is. Classic symptoms of a sociopath. Lying is his reality, just as hearing voices is 'reality' to schizophrenics; everyone else is wrong but him.

This seems to be supported by the evidence at hand. It’s all about owning the libs with these people. And, the libs dared to put a black guy with a funny name in the WH. So, now it’s all hands on deck in Racistville.

This thread got me thinking of why after Trump was elected, I was unable to give overall support to his Presidency. I typically will in the end support my elected officials. Although I support Democrats in the voting booth.

Please no responses from Trumpians that think they know me and say: You'd never support Trump you have TDS. My TDS started watching this boob in the Hillary vs Trump debates. My TDS was in the acute phase the morning I woke up and found he was elected. I went through the stages of grief and decided to accept Trump, but then, read below

Aside from Mueller findings/ Trumps greatest hits

1. Constantly lies
2. Sarah Sanders and others lie for him
3. Indictment of lying Trump inner circle
4. Mexico paying for wall/ fake caravans
5. Claims of denuclearization North Korea
6. No action against Russia election hacking and then secret meetings Putins
7. More golfing then working
8. Lazy time or running his businesses time on taxpayer dime and calling it executive time
9. Porn star payoff with cover-up
10. Hiding taxes
11. "Oranges" of Mueller investigation

Its going to get much better with each indictment of the coup participants.

I'll bet you (friendly bet) that there isn't one indictment of the investigation. I'll go so far as there isn't even a substantive investigation.
