Trump using the word "treason" so readily

Wrong again. None of your idiotic claims equals treason.

18 U.S. Code § 2381. Treason
U.S. Code

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

What is the correct term for people who tried to subvert our government and refuse to enforce our borders? I call them filthy traitors.

Well, first you'll have to name these people and qualify your assertion. Otherwise all you have is opinion.

Trump and his allies, including many people on this board, appear to have no issue with using the word "treason" in regards to those who had anything to do with investigating him or those around him for potential conspiracy.

Accusing people of treason should be a serious matter. To see and hear the president use the word is even more serious. It simply should not be a word so readily used unless there is strong evidence that such people are or have committed treason.

Now Trump is saying that the Democrats are committing treason for not doing something about the border.

Donald J. Trump on Twitter: "I think what the Democrats are doing with the Border is TREASONOUS. Their Open Border mindset is putting our Country at risk. Will not let this happen!"

What's your opinion? Should people, including the president himself, be accusing people of treason? Trump supporters, what would you have said if Obama had accused Republicans and those who opposed him of treason?

"Treason" has become part of Trump's every day speak. Like Beautiful, Yuge, *****, Fake News, and Covfefe.

But to the point I think you're trying to make, it is completely irresponsible and ignorant for a POTUS to use it. He said it about the Dems. He even said it about McCabe and Rosenstein. But as long as the idiots who make up his fan base continue to show how much they love him more than America, get used to it. He won't stop.

Meh ... I call that Putin-fluffing, Kim-loving, Great-Job-Sissi piece of trash a traitor.

Of course, a president SHOULD have more decorum and take greater care to use legal terms properly than a Jane Doe like me is obligated to do ... he can do actual damage with his inflammatory rhetoric ... but he has long since shown that he has no respect for the office or his oath or the people he is harming, not even the ones who voted for him.

I find that when people throw around terms such as Treason, Criminal, Cheater, or Snowflake, it often turns out that it is they that the term fits like a shoe.

I could care less for a president who did at this point.

People have been clamoring in the streets over the span months. Claiming just as many things about Trump, if not more along with personally attacking his family and defending those that got called out for doing so.

So no. I'm not going to hold his feet to the fire for something like this. We knew for a long time that this whole collusion conspiracy was just that, a conspiracy and everyone kept pushing it. We had officials say that they had audio and video evidence of his treason and not a single one of them has surfaced as of yet.

So, as long as you're willing to let the whole lot of them get a pass on this. I'm completely fine with letting him have his time to be pissed at something that warrants just as much right for him to be so pissed.

Exactly, how could we possibly expect Trump to act better than the frustrated people in the streets who are at the mercy of this undisciplined, ignorant, vindictive, egotistical Putin-lover?

It's just stupid to expect more from him than we expect from random internet users who are waiting to see what the next shoe he'll drop on their lives is.

Sheesh, give the orange snowflake a break, people.

Invoking the word "treason" as Trump and others do is really just an appeal to emotions.

Treason is the only crime defined in the US Constitution, at Article III Section 3.

Trump is doing this for effect only, because he is really just in political theater, playing to the cameras.

In that regard, it is like calling a person anti-Semitic because they discuss the criminal actions of the Israeli government. It is a desperate ploy.

Trump does have a knack of using insults which apply directly to him.

It's like he hears someone else make an apt criticism of him -- say someone calls him capricious, for example. Then he stews on it so much that it gets stuck in his head and becomes the new catchphrase in his routine. He can hardly wait for chances to say, "Oh yeah, YOU'RE capricious, and YOU'RE capricious, and YOU'RE capricious."

Even if he doesn't know what the word means.

You were wrong. Deal with it.

And I will absolutely quote you whenever I damn well please.

I don't care for Putin either and seeing as regressives like yourself have been claiming that Trump is somehow indebted to him, or loyal to him in some other way. With no actual proof to show for it.

Then I really don't care for your opinion either.

You've been clear on that throughout but you fail to recognize you're always going to get it.

Your post restates the denials the Right is full of in addition to something else you're full of. You guys post as if Putin were an okay guy who minds his own business and has nothing to do with anything occurring in the USA. You guys invent stuff about Clinton while denying everything about Putin-Trump. That's because you guys are the Fanboys. You want the USA to be more like Putin's Russia than the other way around.

The part of the country you're in down there in Bama hasn't ever been loyal to the Constitution. We see it in your handsome avatar. You guys haven't ever liked the Constitution or accepted it. After the civil war you really considered the Constitution subversive to your way of life, with all those nasty amendments and the like. So your guys back then built monuments to your heroes and toward the day of revival. You're certain this is it and that it's your long awaited chance over generations and lifetimes.

You know that without Trump you'll never have Putin so it kills you to think of Trump gone. I don't believe any Fanboy who says he doesn't care for Putin. A major reason I don't is that you guys always attack anyone who criticizes Putin. And Trump.

Putin-Trump. You can't hide from it and you guys can't dismiss it. No way.

It's just another specter of TRump World.

Treason, Nazi, Racist, commie, homophobe, Hitler, America hater, etc......both sides throw these and other similar words around a bit freely.

I cant look at any news about politics and feel much more than "meh, same old, same old".....hyperbole is the new standard, with both sides trying to outdo each other in outlandish name calling.

Name calling is one thing, undermining all the institutions of america and anyone trump doesn't like is another. Our president is the head cheerleader for hatred in america and he does a fantastic job of feeding red meat to his base. I would even go so far as to say it's what he does best.

Of course. The McCabe cabal committed treason. What other word would you use?

Both sides, people on forums, Twitter, etc., I get that. But the president of the United States accusing people of treason?

Bu...but...members of Congress accusing the president of treason? :lamo

Does that make it OK?

No, but to be brutally honest, I cannot recall maybe one or two pundits who frequents TV who ever said it. Nobody else was tossing the word around unless you’re talking about kooks on the net.

1. If you believed you were correct you would’ve at least attempted to prove it.
2. I don’t give a **** if you read/reply to my posts. They aren’t intended to invite a response as much as they are to point out your many idiotic and false claims.

Have a nice day. :)
