18 U.S. Code SS 2381 - Treason | U.S. Code | US Law | LII / Legal Information Institute

Trump and his allies, including many people on this board, appear to have no issue with using the word "treason" in regards to those who had anything to do with investigating him or those around him for potential conspiracy.

Accusing people of treason should be a serious matter. To see and hear the president use the word is even more serious. It simply should not be a word so readily used unless there is strong evidence that such people are or have committed treason.

Now Trump is saying that the Democrats are committing treason for not doing something about the border.

Donald J. Trump on Twitter: "I think what the Democrats are doing with the Border is TREASONOUS. Their Open Border mindset is putting our Country at risk. Will not let this happen!"

What's your opinion? Should people, including the president himself, be accusing people of treason? Trump supporters, what would you have said if Obama had accused Republicans and those who opposed him of treason?

Seriously? Has he been accused of the same?

Treason, Nazi, Racist, commie, homophobe, Hitler, America hater, etc......both sides throw these and other similar words around a bit freely.

I cant look at any news about politics and feel much more than "meh, same old, same old".....hyperbole is the new standard, with both sides trying to outdo each other in outlandish name calling.

Both sides, people on forums, Twitter, etc., I get that. But the president of the United States accusing people of treason?

yeah, well...this is my shocked face.

We have idiots in the House, the Senate, and the leadership in our nations Cities....why does it surprise you that we have elected them to the big house?

Have you seen the past several administrations?

I have more respect for used car salespeople.....at least you can expect they will try to shaft you.

Let's be fair, Trump isn't exactly the most eloquent or coherent of speakers, and is far from having "the best words". He also said "I know words". Perhaps he should revisit what he does and doesn't know.
That said the more words like 'treason' are bandied around, the less impactful they become-like 'awesome', for example.

... Sorry, I spaced out there for a second.

Had an image run through my head of man dressed in the most horrible business attire. Putting saw dust in Trump's engine and rolling back his odometer.

They don't care. It's all in paying lip service to their own alter of double standards at this point.

People say all sorts of things about presidents. All of them have been compared to Hitler by someone. That is simply not the point.

Can you show where a president before Trump has ever accused someone of treason for things that obviously are not treason? Or for that matter, accusing anyone of treason regardless?

I could care less for a president who did at this point.

People have been clamoring in the streets over the span months. Claiming just as many things about Trump, if not more along with personally attacking his family and defending those that got called out for doing so.

So no. I'm not going to hold his feet to the fire for something like this. We knew for a long time that this whole collusion conspiracy was just that, a conspiracy and everyone kept pushing it. We had officials say that they had audio and video evidence of his treason and not a single one of them has surfaced as of yet.

So, as long as you're willing to let the whole lot of them get a pass on this. I'm completely fine with letting him have his time to be pissed at something that warrants just as much right for him to be so pissed.

It's a narcissist thing. Anybody who goes at all against them they take 100% personally. Even when they are just doing their job. Any previous good things they have done for the narc are forgotten.

It is also a matter of projection. He uses the words he is is doing himself to give you clues as to what he is doing to you. This is just so he can have a boost by knowing that he is soooo much cleverer than you, he did this to you, you failed to spot the lie even when he told you he was doing it! Narc fuel!

Name one politician that accused Trump of treason.

What is the correct term for people who tried to subvert our government and refuse to enforce our borders? I call them filthy traitors.

Name one politician that accused Trump of treason.

I didn't say a politician did and I honestly wouldn't care then, or now for that matter.

It's done, gone, caput. The chance for these people to be taken seriously is gone as far as I'm concerned.

I wanted to alter your post by inserting the word altar. If that would be okay by you of course. Thx in advance.

His name would be Vlad.

I see Trump as a loyal guy.

Very loyal in fact.

It's his loyalties that I object to, entirely and completely. Starting with the person Trump is most loyal to, and that would be Vladimir Putin. It goes without saying of course which may be why you didn't say it. And never say it. Or maybe you'd just rather not discuss it because the posts of the right are written as if Putin were just another guy minding his own business. Which Putin is not.

Name one politician that accused Trump of treason.
What do you call what dems accused him falsely of?

And please ....
Sunday on NBC's 'Meet the Press,' former CIA Director John Brennan said he believed President Trump's decision to revoke his security clearance is "treasonous."
Lefties have been tossing around treason like it was the term racist.

Or hookers...at least they will stop screwing you when you're dead.

I don't care for Putin either and seeing as regressives like yourself have been claiming that Trump is somehow indebted to him, or loyal to him in some other way. With no actual proof to show for it.

Then I really don't care for your opinion either.

Like Trump, you apparently don’t know the definition of treason.

Hopefully Chump's buffoonery chips away at the number of Trumpanzees who support him and his prospect of reelection.

Seriously? Has he been accused of the same?

It's the president doing the accusing not some hack on a website. You do understand the difference. Right?

Like Trump, you apparently don’t know the definition of treason.

Actually I do, that's why I said I call them filthy traitors. Try reading the whole post and then actually answer the question I asked. TDS Derp!

Wrong again. None of your idiotic claims equals treason.
