Do journalists sometimes get things wrong? Of course. From every different biased position. But there is a difference between forgivable mistakes and deliberate stone-cold lies, like those told by Brian Williams, Jayson Blair, Stephen Glass, Dan Rather and dozens of others.
 
There was even a couple of Pulitzer prizes given out on the reporting of Russian collusion. They hold about as much water as Obama getting his Nobel prize.

And had they been praising Trump you would be cheering them to the rafters. Those prizes, by the way, were awarded for excellence of reporting in the public interest and were well-deserved. We had no more idea if there was any evidence of wrongdoing than Mueller did at, two years ago. The media did their job, as they always do, or we would have remained ignorant of everything other than than what the White House told us. Are they biased? Sure, all media display bias, but no lies were told as far as I can see and I, as an Englishman, have been following developments closely over the past two years.
Woodward and Bernstein were also awarded Pulitzers for their investigative work on the Watergate scandal, which led to Nixon resigning. Also well-deserved for the same reason as above.

What a laugh. We have got to be the most gullible idiotic people on the planet, all full of ourselves we don't even as yet know what happened to us, at least not enough of us do. We caused this mess in cable news and broadcasting generally when we DEREGULATED, got rid of the public services mandates in the broadcast rules with all praising the onset of 1,000 channel access! At the same time we devalued Education to the point where people no longer learn how to think. The entire point of the Socratic method of learning was to learn how to think, not what the flying frigg happened in 1492! What in Gods name did we think was going to happen? Instead of adopting the concept of lanes for Broadcasters that existed in Broadcast for all of its early years we simply adopted a balls to the walls proposition for the Internet and then basically glommed it onto Cable, thus going backwards into the future for both media! Nicely done......real smart..... MORE IDIOTS!

We have adopted technologies willynilly without having any idea what these technologies and platforms were capable of doing and how they would impact our social structures. Worse we have metastasized that nonsense all over the place. So now we want to pine about when Cable News will "apologize" for lying to us? Get real people. Wake up. We created this ratings based "news" system out of what was a public services mandate and requirement for Broadcast. Maybe just maybe there might still be time to save ourselves. No one network exec, nor one network nor one politician is going to save us.
