Vicky Ward was on my TV this morning promoting her new book, Kushner, Inc.

From what I gathered the entie book can be summed up in this one quote from a review:

Kushner, Inc. is a burn book with page numbers. We hear how Trump economic adviser Gary Cohn mocked Ivanka ("She thinks she's going to be president of the United States") and Trump strategist Steve Bannon told her to "[g]o f*** yourself ... you are nothing," how Jared's father is possibly bisexual, how Trump wished Ivanka had married Patriots quarterback Tom Brady instead ("Jared is half the size of Tom Brady's forearm"), and how he considered sending the two back to New York because they were causing him so much trouble in the press.

But what caused me to start a thread about this author was her inability to communicate a crisp clear thought on TV. She just annoyed the living hell out of me as she seemed entirely void of content.

Anyone else see her hump her book and come away with the same impression?

If her book has nothing more substantial than "unnamed sources told unnamed sources who told me that blah, blah, blah", then her book will be as easily forgotten as Woodward's, Wolff's and all those other books of rumors that the Trump hating useful idiots love so much.

all the books that are out use unnamed sources

I was looking on one of my favorite sites for Trump hating spin and I found this article:

Ward said Kushner — President Donald Trump‘s son-in-law and senior adviser — was “dangerous” for several reasons, including his almost dragging the United States into another full-blown war in the Middle East. He also micromanaged the State Department behind then-Secretary Rex Tillerson’s back and “got played” by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, she said.

“His taking over control of the State Department, basically, taking Rex Tillerson’s portfolio out of his hands, particularly in the Middle East. His complete control of the relationship with MbS in Saudi Arabia meant he kind of got played by MBS,” Ward explained.

Ward said after Trump’s visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was supposed to highlight cooperation, Saudi Arabia then “made a mockery” of the United States when they blockaded Qatar, which houses an American military base.

Vicky Ward Explains When James Mattis Thought Jared Kushner Went From Being 'Annoying' to 'Dangerous'

This nonsense shows that Ward isn't just a rumor monger, she is ignorant of facts.

1. Kushner doesn't have the power to "taking over control of the State Department". If Kushner did do anything, it was at the direction of the President. Maybe Ward doesn't realize that the President has control over the State Department.

2. Ward doesn't seem to know that Trump WANTED Saudi Arabia and the other countries in their coalition to blockade...and more...Qatar because Qatar was supporting the Muslim Brotherhood. Instead of making a mockery of the US, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and other countries were working hand in hand with the US.

btw, does anyone have any idea what "full-blown war" she is referring to?

It would be a mistake to look at Kushner and Ivanka through a "pro-Trump, anti-Trump" filter. Whatever the accuracy of Ward's tell all, being anti-Kushner is not being anti-Trump. Unlike Donald Jr. (who gets noticed but is not especially influential) the "power couple" has been very important to Trump, and shown that in any battle with conservatives (e.g. Bannon) family and in-law blood is thicker than water.

Frankly, I don't like him (and I don't appreciate Ivanka's lib leanings either). Here is my take:

- He was a key ally on the leniency for federal felons legislation (not necessarily all bad, but anti-conservative and indicative of his roots).

- He is pushing for immigration amnesty, working with Koch's Libre Institute. He and Garza (the institute President) have hosted meetings in the white house to make a larger deal on "immigration reform". Kushner is key in providing white house access to a pro-amnesty group, whereas he won't do so for groups like NumbersUSA or the Center for Immigration Studies.

- Trump put Jared Kushner in charge of the Middle East “peace process.” He was, and likely still is, an ignorant non-expert on the Middle East, claiming that he source of stability in the Mid East is the solving relationship between Israelis and Palestinians FIRST (other issues can wait, he says) - a shop worn liberal cliché that ignored the reality of the last decade or two: the conflicts between Sunni and Shia, the Arab and Persian, Kurds and the Turks, Iranian ambition for nukes against everyone else's security, Syrian despots and the populace, etc.. These are clearly far more important more to address in the short-term than the never to be solved Israel vs. Palestinians issue.

[Thankfully Trump doesn't seem to be listening to this fool. His administration has gone ahead attempting to forge alliances without regard to Kushner's priorities].

- Kushner's naivete has been a danger to Trump. The idiot met with the Russians, tried to setup a secret backchannel with the Russians after the election while keeping it hidden from the government, and pushed Trump to fire Comey over Bannon's objections that this would backfire badly - it did.

- I didn't like the New Yorkers influence, Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, and Gary Cohn (although Cohn had his benefits) — none seem conservative. The first two are there only because of grotesque nepotism, and they are invulnerable to fierce criticism because they are Trumps family (as Bannon learned). Miller, the only solid conservative on Trump's staff, has to play it very cool and low profile to survive this group.

So I wouldn't have any problem with seeing the power couple jettisoned. And I don't mind a tell all book that disses Kushner, although it ought to be accurate and not a transparent bash Trump exercise - that sort of journalism is not good for anyone.
