Last election the citizens of Florida overturned the Jim Crow law of Felons can't vote. So republicans try to subvert the will of the people with this dick move...

Florida committee approves bill requiring felons to pay court fees before voting

A Florida House committee on Tuesday approved a measure that could significantly curtail a state constitutional amendment restoring voting rights to former felons.

The measure, which would require felons to pay all court fees and costs before becoming eligible to vote, passed along a party-line vote in the Republican-led committee, according to The Tampa Bay Times.

I could've swore that a poll tax was unconstitutional.

Not one penny will be paid to vote but we will need set up an authority and pay scores of people to man it.

No one in government cares about how they waste my money.

That’s a pretty racist statement, implying that all felons are black.

Based on recent voter decisions in Red states, there is no respect for the will of the voter.
They seem to always find a way to subvert the will of voters.

I’m not surprised. No one should be. Republican politicians are assholes.

Always a pleasure educating your wilful ignorance...

Your party is racist. That you won't deal with it is on you. No one else.

Michigan being the greatest example of course.

Oh you voted for these people? Well the republican governor is going to dismiss them and put in his own people who will poison your water to save some money.

Republicans are authoritarian-loving pricks. Bottom line.

A person convicted of a crime has not fulfilled their sentence until they pay cost of court. If the Democratic Party had its way, they would have a polling place in every jail and prison - and a voting machine every mile along our Southern border.

It is revealing that the Democratic Party wants felons to vote and the Republican party doesn't. Who wouldn't guess that criminals prefer the Democratic Party.

Why do you think Democrat local officials and President Obama wanted to poison all those people in Michigan? Maybe to save money on social services and welfare by killing off some of the children and causing the old folks to not live as long to save on social security and medicare - even a better Democratic Party idea than death panels.

I have no problem with requiring a felon to fully completing their sentence including any parole time and paying all court cost and fees before having their rights restored.
I also think our justice system uses excessive fees unjustly and would like to see that issue addressed.

I could've swore that a poll tax was unconstitutional.

That is pretty much exactly what this sounds like to me. What precedent does this set? You are not allowed to vote unless you pay parking tickets or fines?

This is nothing but an attempt to subvert democracy and prevent these people from voting.

What does this look like to you?...

A previous standard in Florida only mandated that felons pay back restitution to their victims in order to get their civil rights back.

Oh little Joko, once again your facts have come from someone’s ass. The PEOPLE of Florida chose to give the Constitutional right to vote back to felons who have completed their sentence.

So you support Republicans denying the will of the people. No surprise.

A real dick move. The ACLU will have a field day with this one.
