An 8-year-old living in a homeless shelter has won the New York State chess championship for his age bracket. “I want to be the youngest grandmaster,” Tanitoluwa Adewumi, a Nigerian refugee who goes by Tani, told The New York Times.

I hope Melania hires Tani to tutor Barron in chess!

Lol I love the extraordinary efforts you all make to make everything about Trump but none the less I thank you for bringing my attention to this story. I am going to be making my very first go fund me donation to this kid. It contains 2 things I have a soft spot for, promoting the game of chess and giving children help and encouragement to develop healthy traits.

I hope this kid becomes the next Bobby Fischer and reinvigorates the enthusiasm for chess that once existed in this country. It is truly the game of kings.

How about the next Magnus? Fischer’s latter years weren’t so great

I meant it more as in the attention and excitement he brought for the game. His legal troubles aside.
