Today's tweet:

Slavery is a stain on America & we need to address it head on. I believe it’s time to start a national, full-blown conversation about reparations. I support the bill in the House to support a congressional panel of experts so that our nation can do what’s right & begin to heal.

Why can't she just go away?

She is trying the age old tactic of treating minorities like they are children.

And dangling a lollipop in front of them to get them to jump through her hoop.

Who are you calling Pocahontas? If it isn't a person who is actually named that maybe you want to delete this thread.

For one, she is not going to go away. And all she is really doing is applying an existing series of checkboxes to obtain support, even though the rest of us know reparations for slavery is opening up a fiscal Pandora's Box.

I guess a war with over a half million dead was not "tackling it head on".

This is a conversation I welcome. Who gets these reparations? Who pays them? How much are they given? What exactly are the parameters she suggests we use?

If the gop were smart they would open this debate on the floor of Congress and make the Democrats define what they are asking I stead of just making ambiguous claims.

To be fair, where is it said that reparations is supported by the Democratic party?

It is simply an idiot talking point from a few politicians to PANDER.

That's the thing I want to know. Should union army family members pay these reparations or just confederates. What about immigrants who came here after slavery was abolished, should they pay too? Do all people of color receive these reparations or only some of them, if only some what is the standard. Does everyone qualified get the same reparations or does it vary case by case? I would love to hear what they are specifically proposing.

This is an issue that the gop should welcome a debate on. Let the Democrats go on record defining what's fair.

You think she is the first Democrat to suggest reparations are in order? But that aside what's more fair than bringing it to the floor for debate. Democrats are free to go on record for or against whatever she is suggesting. Isn't that as fair as it gets?

Why can't all you childish, idiotic right winger who can't make any arguments and all you can respond to is dumb name calling just go away. Go crawl under your rocks

Anyway, reparations are stupid. And given the dishonesty of right wingers I don't even believe she said it. The OP didn't even cite anything. As is typical, righties can't argue the facts they have to argue against made up things

I liked your post. I am fine with it as a strategic maneuver from the right.

But like I said, it is dishonest to tie this the the DEmocratic party rather than the few individual =s that are pandering.

Is there any candidate you do like?

Cray Joe.

As of now, I could see me also supporting Booker and Kamala but I need to know more about these 2.

I saw Booker, Gillibrand and Warren last night, interviewed or at their town hall.

I was very pleasantly surprised by Booker and rather taken back by the others.
