Devin Nunes sues Twitter for parody account pretending to be his mom and cow

Twitter allows for parody accounts as long as it’s plainly stated in their profile that they are a parody. Presumably, it’s known that DevinNunesCow is a parody account as cows don’t have thumbs to tweet.
:)
..

The profile pic looks like a real cow to me! ;)

Don't Worry! He's a Republican. Therefore all rules are suspended, anything they've done to smear him is fair game, dismiss the suit, and charge him for even filing a suit.

No, the rules are clear and parody directed at public figures is fine. Do you have a problem with the 1A or just when people use protected speech to make fun of snowflake Republicans who need safe spaces?

Why can't conservatives come up with their own social media? I don't get it. If liberals are so bad, quit using our social media, our medicines, our doctors, our physicians, our music (sans country), our television, our movies, and our comedy. Just make your own.

What's even funnier to me is when the suit was filed, Devin Nunes' Cow had something like 1,200 followers. Now the account has over 90,000 followers.
There's no quick way to embed a Tweet here, right?

What's funny is that this ilk has no problem dishing it out -- insulting anyone that merely disagrees with them. But, as we can see, they are snowflakes when it comes to parody about them.
They also clearly have no sense of humor.

As an aside, Al Franken wrote a book called "Lies: And the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right." Fox sued him. This is what the judge ruled:

Calling the motion ''wholly without merit, both factually and legally,'' the judge, Denny Chin of United States District Court, said that a person would have to be ''completely dense'' not to realize the cover was a joke, and that trademark protection for the phrase ''Fair and Balanced'' was unrealistic because the words are so commonly used.
...
But these arguments were met by laughter in the crowded courtroom, as Fox tried to defend its signature slogan. Part of the network's burden was to prove that Mr. Franken's use of the phrase ''fair and balanced'' would lead to consumer confusion.
One round of laughter was prompted when Judge Chin asked, ''Do you think that the reasonable consumer, seeing the word 'lies' over Mr. O'Reilly's face would believe Mr. O'Reilly is endorsing this book?''
The giggling continued as Dori Ann Hanswirth, a lawyer for Fox, replied, ''To me, it's quite ambiguous as to what the message is here.''

NY Times
Nunes will meet the same ridicule.

Here's an article from Nunes' home town newspaper. According to Nunes, Twitter doesn't let "conservatives" tweet. It has a liberal bent:

which leads one to wonder about the many tweets of Donald Trump. Maybe Twitter considers the Donald to be a liberal.

Isn’t Nunes lawyer a bit of a dodgy character himself?

Devin Nunes sues Twitter for parody account pretending to be his mom and cow (RawStory). I know this is an MSM thread, but most of the other sources are subscription services.

I laughed so hard I nearly wet myself. His cow, reportedly, is "not amused."

Should be interesting to see if Twitter is liable. IMO, I doubt it. He didn't have to post there. He may have a point if he can prove Twitter shadow bans Republicans. I've heard the latter complaint many times by well known Republicans and conservatives.
From a Main Stream Media Source:
Stung by obscene and pointed criticism, Representative Devin Nunes, a Republican from California, has sued Twitter and three users for defamation, claiming the users smeared him and the platform allowed it to happen because of a political agenda.

The complaint, which was filed in Henrico County Circuit Court in Virginia on Tuesday, seeks $250 million in damages. In making his case, Mr. Nunes, a loyal ally of President Trump and the former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, repeated several common Republican complaints that Twitter has repeatedly denied: that it censors Republicans, “shadow bans” their accounts and actively helps their opponents.

Though absorbing criticism comes with the territory for politicians, the complaint described the objectionable tweets from the three users as something “that no human being should ever have to bear and suffer in their whole life.”

To make his case, he cited a wide variety of tweets that included accusations of criminal misconduct, crude jokes at his expense and relatively banal criticism. The complaint says the tweets “falsely stated” that Mr. Nunes had brought “shame” to his family and that he was voted “Most Likely to Commit Treason” in high school, and that one of them included a cartoon image of a sexual act with Mr. Trump and President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia. The complaint lists dozens of other tweets he found insulting.

Devin Nunes Sues Twitter for Allowing Accounts to Insult Him - The New York Times

"One of the funniest things to ever happen on the internet"? This guy has really missed a lot of the internet.
A legislator, who co-sponsored a bill against frivolous lawsuits, files a frivolous lawsuit, presenting no actual legal arguments, filed by a lawyer who was suspended twice (first one for violating securities law and "general incompetence," second for practicing law while suspended) and reprimanded for misconduct a few years later, against a parody Twitter account claiming to be a cow.

As a result, the parody Twitter account -- which no one way paying attention to -- soars in popularity and gains followers.

It's like an Onion article, but... real.

It's already freaking hilarious. It only gets better if @DevinCow actually gets more followers than Nunes.

P.S. @DevinCow is now up to 102k followers.

So Nunes is a liar in addition to being a moron and a Trump ass kisser. Such a neat combination!

Nunez suing Twitter because he doesn't like satire being pointed against Republicans :lamo

Don't you have a feeling a judge is going to laugh him out of the courtroom.

Assuming the judge has a brain, yes. If the judge is a Trump supporter, no.

1. lol. Not gonna win.

2. Does even one of these right wing loudmouths stand firm? They all seem to start crying the moment a little fraction of their perpetual nastiness is turned their snowflakey way.

They spend nearly a decade accusing Obama of lying about his place of birth, lying about his religion, hating America, being racist, wanting to destroy America, etc etc etc. He spent nearly a decade not giving a ****.

One of them gets a little criticism - political speech - on twitter and they melt-down. Pathetic.

I don't need to tell you to remember it whenever you see one of their minions here calling liberals "snowflakes".

Heh. Without Nunes we would not know about the faked fisa warrants, the partisan texts, the faked steele papers bought with clinton cash and so much more.

Look at them. Democrats have not been so angry with someone since republicans took away their slaves.

We make up half the country, but we're so nefarious we have dominated and victimized the right from every angle. They cannot escape our vise!

Mueller's Russia probe wasn't launched because of Carter Page if that's what you're referring to regarding FISA warrants. The dossier compiled by an ex-spy was only part of the evidence cited to get a warrant. It's already been established by the House Intelligence Committee that the Russia investigation began after the FBI learned that campaign aide, George Papadopoulos, had been approached by a Russian agent. The agent told Papadopoulos the Russians had incriminating information about Hillary Clinton, including emails, according to court documents.. Papadopoulos then mentioned to an Australian diplomat that the Russians had "dirt" on Clinton, the Australians contacted the U.S. government, and the FBI began to take a look.

The released documents contain dozens of pages that are entirely blacked out. People who have read them, including Rep. Adam Schiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, say they contain secret evidence establishing ties between Page and Russians — evidence that goes beyond what was included in the dossier compiled by Christopher Steele.

National security experts who have reviewed the document say that even the parts that aren't blacked out contain more than enough information to provide a judge reason to rule that the FBI had probable cause to believe that Page was an agent of Russia.

As Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Devin Nunes did everything in his power to stifle information coming from people who testified before their committee. People just outright refused to answer questions or claimed 'executive privilege' when there was no basis for claiming such rights. Devin Nunes refused to allow these witnesses to be subpoenaed to get some facts from them. Devin Nunes also subpoenaed many classified documents from Robert Mueller and brought them right to Trump.
