He is a White Nationalist. People need to stop trying to peg White Nationalists as some sort of faction of a category of the spectrum from Fascist to Socialist. Is there anything for example actually Conservative about White Nationalism? NOPE. Is there anything truly Conservative about Donald Trump for example? NOPE. More former "Conservatives" have gravitated over to White Nationalism because they have bought into the white victimization narrative lock stock and barrel. They have been driven there by fear and the constant drum beat of rhetoric and hyperbole.
The shooter completely ignores the fact that the most aggressive single group of Imperialists on this planet have been White Imperialists. He claims to be working to support what were the European colonial holdings of the past without rationalizing the simple fact that those colonial holdings were acquired through violent means. The British Empire on its own and at its height covered one quarter of the world's land mass and one quarter of the worlds population, roughly 450 million people. How many people do you think they killed to subjugate 450 million beings at a time when there were about 1.6 billion human beings occupying the entire planet? Both the opening and closing acts of their Imperialism were ugly and many of the problems we deal with today can be directly linked to both. Pakistan and India are at it AGAIN. The Middle East mess is almost entirely a concoction of the British ugly exit from Imperialism and us here in the US picking up their baton. That is just the British Empire! Add in the French. The Dutch, the Belgians. Toss in the Spanish and the Holy Roman Empire if you want then toss in the Nazi's exterminating 7 million Jews. Arian Purity was and is the beating heart of Nazism. Add our forays into Economic Imperialism mainly fronted by American WASP's including slavery and genocide and it is an ugly ugly picture. The Ottomans and the Moors barely scratch the surface of that. The Japanese empire mainly kept itself to Asia and the Pacific, also barely a bump in the road compared to European White Imperialism.
He whines about immigrants and has a small piece in his rambling gibberish about valuing green and nature utterly oblivious to the fact that resistance to things like climate change is as much a Western phenomenon as it is an Eastern phenomenon. Violence and famine driven hunger are the major driving forces behind mass migration and to claim White hands to be clean and blood free is absurd. His arguments are laughable, clearly based on having tweaked himself into a corner from which he now has tunnel vision to boot.
He "admires" China without having any earthly idea that the Chinese are subjugated to themselves! Would you submit to a Citizen Merit System? Would you want the wireless telecom system connected to your smartphone used to feed that Citizen Merit System? Give me a break.
White Nationalists are simply a group of people that have tweaked themselves senseless and as a result have backed themselves into a corner. No group of immigrants backed them into that corner. They backed themselves into it. If anything they were/are aided by charlatans taking advantage of them. Gun manufacturers feed on them, politicians prey on them as do religious cultists (another form of politician). Its an ugly picture of self-aggrandizing narcissism from the self-aggrandizing user's perspective. "If I get what I want, what do I care what damage results". Enter Donald Trump!
I don't at all mean to minimize the threat white nationalism represents. Those that truly believe REALLY believe and they are as such a committed and motivated group able to do unspeakable things in the name of their cause. But don't confuse them with neat, easily understood political categories. They don't belong in any of them. They are what they are.....white nationalists. Also, don't kid yourself. "Nationalism" has become code for White Nationalism.
