Biden would capture the center, but the center is shrinking fast. I don't want to bite off more than we can chew, but due to the Trump fiasco, we may be able to go slightly more left than we would otherwise.

But I believe his age and two white guys on the ticket won't help to motivate younger voters. Plus going this way could potentially keep two more white guys in office for up to 16 years. I'm not sure if that's the way forward...

Sorry, I read your link regardless of the source, I usually don't waste my time with the Washington examiner, and I wish I hadn't this time.

He was never charged with trying to flee the scene so obviously if he had actually tried he would have been charged.

Concur. Biden has experience in spades and is well liked by both sides, and Harris (aside from appealing to many just because of her race/gender) has a strong record as a prosecutor and State AG. Not someone who could legitimately be called “soft”. And I agree that Biden’s numbers will certainly drop, at least temporarily, after he announces. It’s inevitable, considering he has so many years in the Senate, there’s plenty of ammo for the other side use against him.

Ditto. I really wanted to vote for McCain, but as soon as I heard Palin talk it was over for me. What a friggin’ idiot! I honestly don’t understand how someone so incredibly stupid could get so far (whoa, Trump déjà vu moment). It wasn’t worth the risk, considering McCain’s medical history.
 
I'd like to see Bernie run, spread the gospel, then when he gets kneecapped out of the race endorse a Harris / Warren ticket. Harris to do the president thing and Warren as her bulldog.

I have to say, somewhat cynically, that NO Democrat can be a winning ticket if his platform is to bring the country "back to the center". Also not sure that's in Biden's wheelhouse.

Harris beats Beto because Harris understands that this is a fight. Beto is basically discount Obama. He will likely run in a similar way where he presents a vision of hope, change, and unity. That isn't going to cut it these days. I think a lot of democrats understand that the "reach across the aisle" style of politics turned them into suckers during Obama's presidency. Biden's history will be really hard for him to defend. Not to mention his recent comments supporting the wealthy, republicans, and slamming millennials.

From what I’ve seen of O’Rourke so far, he’s a pretty face with not much substance. Harris, I believe, is up for a fight. No doubt Biden will have to answer for a lot, but he knows the game.

Just because he wasn't convicted doesn't mean it didn't happen. It's an accepted, supported fact that it happened.

If it happened and he's guilty, then you would have a conviction to show me. If you don't, then he's not guilty and therefore not a criminal.
