I said in another thread a few weeks ago that I hope Biden isn't the candidate. I also hope Warren isn't. But at the end of the day there is no way I would vote for Trump, and I want him out of office. If that means voting for a Dem I don't much care for I'll do it.
Here's what I see happening... Biden is going to keep playing Hamlet all the rest of this year, and the thought of him joining the race will scare off a lot of the moderates. Meanwhile, with the field so crowded on the left, it'll leave the center open for Hickenlooper to run pretty much unimpeded. It'll be 1976 all over again.... when Carter came out of nowhere to win. Back then, people were looking for an anti-Nixon, and Carter fit the bill. Next year, they'll be looking for the anti-Trump.... and that will play into Hickenlooper's low-key, thoughtful approach.

Sort of like how people were saying "Jimmy who?" in 1975?

There might be just one tiny little problem with your proposed path to victory for Hickenlooper: the progressive base wants something more.

Sure they do... just like they wanted Great Society II back in 1976. Only thing is, they were split between about 8 different candidates on the left.

I agree, Hickenlooper would be my first choice as actual president, however I was contemplating the ticket to beat trump.

I believe Biden can win both the primary and election, particularly if he runs for one term.

I thought Beto would be could for firing up the youth vote and get people to get out and vote this election.

All I know is that democrats can not **** this up again...

They can't. But they probably will. I just hope they don't. Give this lifelong Republican someone decent se can vote for. Just because the Republicans were stupid enough to offer up Trump doesn't mean the Dems need to double down on the ignorance in 2020.

    Biden/Gabbard 2020

But if I'm being honest, I don't think Trump should be nominated at all... for a 2020 presidential election.

    So.

    Bill Weld vs. Biden/Gabbard... 2020...

I love my country, but I am incredibly. ----ing. mad. at. it.
NOT DONALD TRUMP 2020! MAKE AMERICA NOT STUPID AGAIN!
