As a social democrat, I would support the payment of $10,000 for the sterilization of anyone within the United States. But, they have to be between the ages of 18 and 20. Americans are breeding themselves like rats, and a need for pest control is needed within the United States. Dealing with the problem we need to start at a early age. At the age of 18 to 20 are legal adults and are young enough to be within the program. The reason the problem stops at the age of 20, because going beyond the age of 20 would produce the ability to manage their sterilization.

True, with the $10,000 they can do whatever they want with the money. Use it to go to college and pay for their college education. With Republicans, they can give the money to their church in the false believe they can go to heaven. Anyway they want, they are in control of their money and can do whatever they want with it.

Last I heard, we aren't replacing our population, so it seems like this would exacerbate that issue, and drive the need for even more immigration, which many oppose.

Can you substantiate your "breeding too fast" claim?

We need to draw down the world population if we want to save ourselves in the long run. We can start now, or face the harder choices during the end of the twenty-first century. We have a population over 320 million and when I was born, we had a population of 170 million. True, the American white population is facing a replacement rate below 2.1 child per female. Still, it is to draw down all the population.

How would the sterilisation happen chemical? Surgery? Woild it be reversible if the person had a change of heart?

It would be surgery. And it should be not be reversible. The wealthy, the well off, the educated community would not be the primary people to be have sterilization -- but it is their free will to have it done. The primary goal to make it $10,000 and for the age group of 18 to 20, is the middle class and the less well off people. The educated community are already limiting themselves with children or not having any children. It is the poorer people, the less educated who reproduce at a alarming rate. It is the people that believe in religion, who are breading like rats. They can donate their $10,000 to their church and save humanity from one more mouth to feed.

So the goal is to rid the population of those making less money.

Dude your comments are just plain bat **** crazy.

Not so true. True, the less well off at the age of 18 to 20 will take the deal. And with a time line to make the $10,000 at the age of 18 to 20 becomes important to get the money. True, people in poverty will take the offer and end generational welfare. But, to the gay and lesbian community that is not having children -- it can be used to get their college education. A free $10,000, can be the make or break of someone going to college. With a college education -- they can make more money in the long run. Still, like it is today with a college education. Attending a division II or a division III or a small liberal arts college -- can produce more liberal arts degrees. But, a liberal arts degree from a small college produces someone being a manager of minimum wage workers. Even then, you could come out of a division I university with a English Major -- and end up as a manager of minimum wage workers. Someone taking the $10,000 for college, is more inline to end his or her college career with a undergrad degree as a liberal arts student.

Well, I was an English major, and I am not any kind of manager.

A solution for a problem that doesn’t exist.:thumbdown

Well, I was an English major, and I am not any kind of manager.

That is fine with me. But, my dealings with undergrad degrees, and more so with a liberal arts degree -- the bulk of them end up as a manager. There is nothing wrong with a liberal arts degree at the undergrad level. It is just that, if you are going after a liberal arts degree, you need a masters degree. I lived 18 years in Ann Arbor Michigan, with 55% of the population with a undergrads degree. And 0.01 percent without a high school education. The University of Michigan students make fun of themselves. There motto to themselves and to there community was "I have a liberal arts degree, do you want fries with that order."

I does exist. It is in the city of Chicago, it is in large communities were there is no hope. It is better to embrace sterilization, or, accept more murders, suicides, drug overdose, church attendance -- the vice of America. And, the children that live to see there dead parents or parents that are in prison, or go to church -- they have to witness the hopelessness of their lives.

Interesting logic, prevent births to cut down murder rates.

“United States Population Projections

The population of the US continues to grow today, driven by a high level of immigration. The latest data from the Census Bureau shows that US population growth is running at between 0.7% and 0.9% per year. A 2015 Census Bureau Report suggests that growth will slow somewhat, and projects a 2060 population of 417 million, with the country crossing the 400 million threshold in 2051.

The United Nations projects a lower total, estimating a population of just over 400 million in 2060.”

The population of the United States should be around 200 million. The world population should be under 5 billion.

not going to happen... either get behind funding a massive amount of scientific work and space exploration so we can leave this planet and spread out, or get ready to experience martial law and the possible extermination of millions in the years to come.

choose.

only technology can save you.

We are not going into space. There will never be a human settlement of millions of people on Mars. It cannot happen with the world economy during the twenty-first century or any other century we can see. Mankind, was by the natural laws of evolution is a earth base animal. As a earth base animal, its primary need is salt. Salt, is cheep on earth, and humans need it as a diet. The problem of going to the Moon, or for that matter leaving the solar system -- we need salt. The average human body has 3% body mass of salt. When the body dies, around 5 to 6 pounds or salt is lost to the dead. Whatever advancement in mankind, we are not rational there yet to eat our dead for the salt of the human body.

What is more rational to happen for mankind, is the billions of people killed for clean water and food. The world is at a critical level, we are over populated, we are in a warming planet, and food and clean water is going to be a issue into the twenty-second century.

I second the OP's proposal.

We should use every (voluntary, of course) method to reduce the population.

I would give cash to people of any age to have that procedure.

Many of our problems are due to too many darn human beings everywhere.
