Just heard on one of the talking heads shows that Whitaker admits he lied to congress about talking with trump about Federal attorneys. Wonder if he looks good in orange? I also wonder if the President sent you with an order to lie to congress, if that would be an out for these people? It would certainly throw trump under the bus, but what do they have to lose at this point as Trump can not pardon them without implicating himself.

I think you'll need to be much more specific about this, and cite your sources.

Do really believe everything talking potato heads tell you?

(No...don't bother to answer that question.)

Baby Jesus loves links to news articles.

Ernie Keebler lied to congress, and he's still doing ok. maybe he bribed them with some Grasshoppers, though.

It's not a wholly sufficient source yet, but this is probably what the OP is referring to:

"Rep. Jerry Nadler says during today's closed-door meeting, former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker "did not deny that the president called him to discuss the Michael Cohen case and personnel decisions in the Southern District" -- something he denied last month. Per Rep. Jerry Nadler: While he was acting AG, Matthew Whitaker was also "directly involved in conversations about whether to fire one or more US attorneys" AND whether SDNY "went too far in pursuing the campaign finance case" involving Trump. "

Caroline Orr on Twitter: "Per Rep. Jerry Nadler: While he was acting AG, Matthew Whitaker was also "directly involved in conversations about whether to fire one or more US attorneys" AND whether SDNY "went too far in pursuing the campaign finance case" involving Trump. 2/"

I recall Whittaker's answer, and remember thinking that it left him some wiggle room if called on it later. The odds of him being prosecuted for perjury are exceedingly low for this reason.

I think this ends with Whitaker being sanctioned by the bar.

He flat out lied, under oath, to congress...then got scared and asked to speak to the committee again to 'fess up.

The bigger picture, of course, is that he has just become the latest person to directly implicate Trump in OOJ in the Mueller investigation.

More importantly, will his jail cell will have that "MASCULINE TOILET" with the low water line he was selling... for guys with extra large junk.

Looks like he's going to get a chance to restate his goddamn position.

Hmmmm... big dick toilet salesman doesn't seem very bright.

So what exactly will it take for you to believe what has been reported?

LOL, which talking head show on CNN or MSNBC was it on?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there is perjury going on in nearly every hearing before Congress. At least as far as the spirit of the law goes. As far as the letter of the law, they almost always leave themselves enough wiggle room to give a jury a "shadow of doubt" which makes it not worth prosecuting unless it accompanies other, more supportable charges.

I was personally shocked by how obvious that wiggle room was, and how Representatives didn't press him on. Whittaker left a giant emergency exit door open for himself and Reps did nothing to close it.

If I am being honest with myself, I think one of the reasons congress members let that kind of wiggle room slide is because most of them could imagine themselves being in a similar situation one day having to answer questions that they would prefer not to.

Guess he's going to go back to designing toilets for guys with big dicks. He's gonna meet a lot of customers where he's going.

Why? It's an anti-Trump story so people need to be free to simply spew their bias. Anything less is obstruction of justice and proves one's sympathies to Russia.

The left wing HATES him because Trump hired him specifically to obstruct Mueller and the Russia investigation. He'll be in front of Nadler and Schiff by next week.

You...admit that?

every once in a while the truth accidentally slips out.....

Republicans' slide into fascism still has the power to surprise me now and again.

That seems a bit much to me. I think Reps just weren't prepared or they didn't have the prosecutor's initiative in them. If, say, Kamala Harris had been on the panel, I think you would have seen Whitaker's statement followed up on with sufficiently more directed gusto.

AOC stole the show as she was extremely well prepared, but she had her own agenda (one which she did really great with).

By the way, just for perspective’s sake, this is a million times bigger than the Tarmac Meeting.

Nice to see you coming around.
