So, they aren't even pretending anymore.

Trump finally submitted a budget (a month late). Let's take a look, shall we?

$8 billion for a wall Congress rejected.
$840 billion in cuts to Medicare.
Trillion dollar deficits for the next four years.

You know what, Mr. President, keep your budget. We’ll take it from here.

Adam Schiff on Twitter: "Trump finally submitted a budget (a month late). Let's take a look, shall we?

Stealing from the poor to give to the rich--ladies and gents, your GOP.

Cool. Let's see what Schiffty can do that won't result in "Trillion dollar deficits for the next four years".

btw, raising taxes is a dead deal, if that's what he was thinking of.

- At least the President turned a proposed budget to Congress.
- Besides stop gap measures and Continuing Resolutions when was the last time Congress gave the President spending bills on time?
- Congress creates the spending Bills for the President to sign. Now doesn't that tell you something about who is actually running up the debt?

Failing the American people - ladies and gents, your Congress (with the House managed by the Dems.).

I give up. Was it all the years the Republicans were in charge?

seems safe to speculate that if the house hadn't flipped, these programs would have been significantly more at risk.

I must have given over $100K to that fund over the past few decades or so. Seems a shame to have it stolen. But, I have no doubt that this is the GOP tax plan.

Oh yeah... Cut Medicare. That's going to get the republicans a lot of votes.

Go for it.

It's probably back loaded--they'll protect their dying old white men, but screw anyone 50 or younger.

i'm vested in a public pension that i took as part of my salary. it's fully funded, but this is a red state, so who knows what they'll do to it.

They made Paul Ryan Speaker of the House. I don't think they've been pretending.

(Correction: Trump was, on the campaign trail. So, touche.)

How is this stealing from the poor to give to the rich?

"Trump wants to “reduce wasteful spending” on Medicare by expanding the list of treatments that require prior authorization before the procedure can be done and putting medical providers on notice who charge more than others. The administration argues these cost savings will help ensure Medicare can last for many years to come, but some argue it will result in people who need treatment having it delayed or not receiving it because of extra paperwork and hurdles."

Analysis: Ten takeaways from the Trump budget proposal

Of course. Trump can do no wrong. Silly me.

Thanks for telling us what Adam Schiff thinks.

Versus the liar trump who said he wasnt going to touch Medicare. You guys aren’t even credible anymore.

That's a big reason I voted the way I did.

Because its going to mean that poor folks who paid for medicare their whole working lives.. will now have to get pre authorization.. which means that treatment that's needed will get delayed or not receive it because of the extra paperwork and hurdles...

So that wealthy people.. like yourself could have a tax cut.. And since you are rich... you likely won't have to worry about the medicare hurdles because you can either pay privately or use your secondary..

The reason that Trump is doing this.. is solely to mitigate the large increases in deficit spending he is asking for and the increase in the deficit from the tax cuts.

Death Panels. Die, while you wait...

Someone has to pay, why not grandma?

Funny you would go there....

I remember distinctly back when Sarah Palin was screaming about death panels telling people that if a Republican had come up with the plan, they wouldn't be complaining, and quite possibly would actually be calling it a good thing.

Guess I finally get proven correct.

I didn't know that there is no pre-authorization under Medicare. We have BC/BS under Obamacare and every single surgery (doctor's office, out-patient procedure, hospital stay) has to be pre-authorized by BC/BS.
Why should Medicare - and Medicaid, for that matter - be exempt from pre-authorization when most of us have to get approval first?

Six times Trump promised not to cut Medicare.

Save Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security without cuts. Have to do it. Get rid of the fraud. Get rid of the waste and abuse, but save it.
-- Donald Trump, Announcing his candidacy in 2015

Medicare and Social Security are paid from payroll taxes and are marginally self-funding. My question is Trump merely reporting projected incomes for those programs?
