My vote is absolutely worthless

For those of us who obviously did not pay attention in school or had a teacher who was most likely a leftist, once again, we are not a democracy. We are as a fact a constitutional federal republic. A form of democracy is not a democracy. To illustrate this, ask for a drink with ice, then the same drink with water instead of ice. Ice is a form of water. but your drink is completely different. In regards to our "Federal" government , we vote in a democratic process but it is definitely not a democracy. In a democracy, if one gathers enough votes, we could vote to remove our rights and others.
If I'm wrong someone provide the ballot where I voted to lower my federal taxes. If we are a democracy then we should be able to do that.

I was reading an article earlier today about how the country is being ruled in a manner that is highly incongruent with the will of the people. One of the arguments that was made to counter was to "get out and vote". I pondered that for some time and thought about the effects of my voting record. I realized not a single vote I made mattered whatsoever.

1. I voted for Bernie in the Democratic primary. The media and DNC neutralized it.
2. I didn't vote in the presidential election because Utah is too red and the popular vote doesn't count.
3. In the midterms I voted for my desired house representative, my district is so gerrymandered it was pointless.
4. I voted for Medicaid expansion, it passed, lawmakers ignored it.
5. I voted for medical marijuana legalization, it passed, lawmakers ignored it.

What kind of "democracy" is this? Net neutrality is supported by ~85% of the public, congress ignored that and went ahead with special interests. Medicare for all is supported by most but treated as a fringe idea by the media and lawmakers. I could go on and on about how policy doesn't reflect the will of the people, we all know this.

How long can this go on before revolution? I think in the next 20 years we are going to see some pretty incredible changes. Once the oligarchs lose control and their crony democracy cracks, I believe we will see a rapid transformation into a country far more concerned with the welfare of the average individual, rather than that of billionaires and millionaires getting every last penny possible.

Voting needs to be change from Electoral college to popular and switch to rankings meaning you chose 4 candidate in the order of preference and if none gets at least 50% from 1 choice then it goes to second or 3rd or 4th choices...some states are doing this.

for Electoral College points for example if an state votes 60% for Dem and 40% for a republican president then electoral points gets divided 60 to 40 rather than all go to the popular one.

Congress in planning to change current corrupted poorly manged voting system, but Mitch McConnell is blocking it. I guess he really doesn't like democracy!

Anarchists allegedly don't believe in government. A commune governed by votes wouldn't be "anarchist," at least truly.

But they are fools because no government = warlordism one way or another, given a little time. Government is inescapable.

That is not quite true. Anarchists philosophy is about minimalist government and not allegedly no government. Another word for anarchist is libertarian socialist.
In basic terms anarchists are left wing socialist libertarians while many american libertarians are right wing capitalist libertarians. The goals on reduction of government are the same it is just that the methods and use of government are different.
