Okay I'll just type some stuff and you guess 'silly' or 'serious'.

* Democrats want to remove all gas cars from U.S. roads.

* Democrats want to force you to only have one car and that will have to be an electric car.

* Democrats want to ban airplanes. If you want to get anywhere you will have to take a train or boat. You will have to cross off 95% of the world to be able to travel to.

* Democrats want to force the destruction of virtually every structure in the U.S. New York City we will have to rip down buildings and rebuild them.

Ah...gotcha. It's all true, and it's all silly.

These are direct quotes, word for word, from Trump in his historically and agonizingly long and especially vile speech at CPAC today.

"Their plan would remove every gas powered car from American roads. They want you to have one car instead of two, and it should be electric. So tell people - no more cars - no more cars. I think the auto industry is not going to do too well under this plan. It would end air travel but you'll get on a train, don't worry about it. You just have to cross off about 95% of the world. And it would force the destruction or renovation of virtually every existing structure in the United States. New York City would have to rip down buildings and build them again. I don't think so. This is the craziest plan."

I watched the dreadfully long (and sweaty) speech just long enough to hear all that bull, then I changed the channel.

I would compare his speech to a nightclub comedy act from the 80's. Trump was virtually a reincarnated version of Sam Kinison and Andrew Dice Clay combined.

What happened to the Caravans? Or was that last week's episode?

Caravans was last month's scare tactic. This month its Green New Deal and a first term congressperson from NY. Go figure. Trump has his ghoulish base twisted around his pinky finger.

You never know, though. The caravans may re-appear in a future episode. The seemed extremely popular with the audience!

What part do you see as silly? Seems like fairly good paraphrasing of GND. Possibly a little rhetorical license but not "silly". Why don't you quote me the section from the GND he was talking about for each "silly" accusation and show how he was materially wrong in his characterization?

The GND is the type of central planning that would make Mao blush. But why not give it a shot. Look how well it worked out for the Soviet Union.

I'm pretty sure caravans weren't addressed in the GND, and besides the buses and trucks transporting the caravanistas are carbon fuel powered.

WTF is Daniel Dale?

WTF is GND?

I couldn't quote any more than I did otherwise I would have puked up my lunch if I watched one more minute.

Context does not matter to the Trumpophobes. Their agenda is to put some faux narrative out there they parrot some hater write on twitter and run with it.

Trump is the only person who can give a speech that is smarter when taken out of context. When listening to the whole thing without protective goggles or time-outs, one is exposed to a toxic level of crazy that the CDC has determined to be lethal.

Green New Deal. Come on, what did you THINK Trump was talking about? Or did you just spew first.

How soon they forget their newest anointed, bossy bartender's crapola; :bs.

Fair point!

The issue is not whether or not Trump's rhetoric about the Green New Deal in its current embryonic state is relevant or not. Its that Trump simply does not care to understand the push and pull of politics and or he does understand it but does not want to give his ghoulish base a minute's piece so that they might understand it. You would have to be a card carrying idiot to think that all of the GND could be brought into being all at once or even in stages or that even pieces of it would be enacted in whole.

Trump simply does not allow his base to understand the push and pull of politics because he has no interest in engaging in the push and pull of politics. He prefers to tweet his base into a twitching mania every 10 seconds and accomplish his ends via abuse of power. The great negotiator does not even attempt to actually negotiate a darned thing. If he cannot get his way with a knife at your throat, he cannot get his way. What a shocker that is as it was his calling card as a businessman for decades.

Trade negotiations with China are going the same way everything else Trump goes. Lighthizer basically acknowledged last week before congress that any resolution or deal on IP theft, unfair business practices, all the stuff that really matters between US and China are a loooooong loooooong way off. So Lighthizer will eventually come home with a deal for farm products and other exports and for all intents resolve a problem Trump exacerbated, resolving none of the real issues and they will call that a WIN!!!! What a joke.

To say all or even a lot of Democrats want that is indeed quite silly and intellectually dishonest unless said in a humorous hyperbole context.

To say no Democrats at all want something really close to that is also pretty silly.

Name me a Democrat who has shown any tendency to engage in "push and pull politics". I love how you attempt to beg the question on GND's validity by labeling it "embryonic". Oh, and remind me again how many times Trump attempted to negotiate with Dems during government shutdown? Your perceptions are seriously deflected to the left.

what do you mean by 'spew'? What did I spew, tell me.

Negotiate what....capitulation? Give me a break...pull that crap on some idiot. Look to your immediate right...there is bound to be one there occupying the same silo.

The GND is a proposal, a proposition covering a number of agenda items effecting the future of the country. It will have to be fleshed out within the Dem party before it gets fleshed out farther than that. But I would not expect a Trumpet to understand any of that. As usual the Right is too politically naive, too utterly trapped in its windowless, doorless silo to even discuss a topic seriously.

And just to make the point. When you feel compelled as President of the United States to come out to the CPAC stage today and hug the American flag on its stand you are simply a slathering, political hack! DonDon is really starting to lose the story line of even his own reality TV show.

Sure, find, whatever you say. And somehow you think "fleshing it out" is going to make is less idiotic than this embryonic version? Wouldn't have been smarter to do a little more "fleshing out" and reality checking before making it public?
