Why Did Republicans Attack Cohen Personally But Not His Story?

Absolutely. He is definitely a crook that is trying to cash in but he knows he can't do it without support from his patsies and as such, has to offer them something they want or they will not support him.

It is the typical scam.

Are we talking about Trump, Cohen or both, Luckyone?

Exactly and they are far, far removed from the types of things that would occasion impeachment. The left is simply obsessed with getting rid of Trump before 2020 because they know if the economy is still strong, Trump will win easily.

Clinton was brought before Congress to answer for cheating on his wife. Trump has done far worse as president. Let's get his sworn testimony. If he lies, then let's impeach him. Isn't that how it works?

Says who? John Edwards set up his mistress with campaign donations yet even he was not convicted of a campaign finance violation. Trump used his own money as part of a NDA. This is a very slim reed that the Dems are clinging to and it will fail.

He cant because he doesn't know. He also is a fake lawyer

Name one thing that Trump has done as POTUS that remotely qualifies as worthy of impeachment. Not one thing Cohen claimed happened after the election. If someone thinks they have a criminal case against Trump, let them try to prove it after he leaves office.

I do not understand what you are getting at, lwf. Are you saying that Donald Trump sexually assaulted Stormy Daniels?

No I am not. You responded to my response to LowDown. If you want context, see posts #18, #21, and #28.

Nothing yet. But I didn't think Clinton did anything that remotely qualifies as worthy of impeachment either. But the Republican controlled Congress subpoenaed him based on a sexual harassment allegation by one woman, and he was impeached for lying about sexual relations with a completely different woman. Trump has been accused of sexual harassment or assault by 19 women. Let's subpoena him before a grand jury and get his testimony. If he tells the truth, no impeachment necessary.

Yes, the GOP Congress that tried to remove Clinton was foolish, just as the Dems will be if they try to remove Trump. Oh, and Trump never paid an assault accuser $850K to stay out of court.

Answer: They accept Trump for the "con man" Cohen said he is.

It doesn't really matter that Cohen may be telling the truth. Trump's base, which means their voters as well as his, doesn't care if Trump broke the law. They know he's dirty. It's not that Trump is above ordinary morality; it's more that he is removed from it. Values like honesty and fealty aren't relevant to a leader who leads from his gut, who is guided by genius instinct. At this level moral evaluation does not take place. It can't take place. Which makes a scandal like this a distraction, but a dangerous one if it threatens Trump's leadership. The entire effort then must be aimed at tearing down Cohen. Then we can forget the story.

The sad thing about all of this is that Trump has exposed the biggest difference in values that exists in humankind. Trump and his followers venerate Money and the ability to make it above everything else. To them, honor, respect, morals, ethics, principles and humanity are weaknesses that need to be stamped out. It is about being the richest, the most wealthy, and about having the opportunity to reach those levels that are important to Trump and his supporters.

The other side does not value money as much. To them (and by the way to me), what is important in life is becoming the best person you can be in an emotional way and in relationship to others. To be loved, respected, and honored beats everything else as money cannot buy love, cannot buy respect and cannot buy honor as they have to be earned and are never guaranteed. Money is needed to survive physically but to let money become your God above all else, takes you to a different place than where God actually wants us to be and to represent.

This is what I have said often before, this is a fight between good and evil with Trump representing Satan and everything that is evil and those against him, representing God and what is good in people.

This is borne out every single day in what Trump does and his supporters support and the disappointment and hate felt by the other side toward him and his supporters.

This is not science, this is the most simple thing that exists in all humans, the fight within us to be the best we can be or the worst we can be for the benefit of obtaining money.

Precedent is a bitch.

He paid $130K. What is the maximum allowed payment?

No, he paid $0 because he was never accused of assault. You are conflating the two when they are very different.

It might make the libs feel good to try to impeach Trump but it will fail. Whether that hurts Trump or simply validates his claims of a witch hunt remains to be seen. I see it hurting Democrats much more than Trump.

Both are crooks. I do believe there is redemption in life and that people can change and become better people but generally speaking it only actually happens in no more that 30% of those that say they have changed. Cohen in some ways is worse that Trump inasmuch as Trump has absolutely no morals, ethics, principles or humanity while Cohen in stating that he has changed means that he had some before but decided to follow the black road rather than the white road. As such, he has the problem that he knew better but decided to do evil nonetheless. Trump, I believe, is evil incarnate and does not know better.

Nonetheless, Jesus once said that a person can still go to heaven if they truly renounce the evil they have done in life and I am no judge for whether Cohen has truly changed or not. Only God will know when he is judged.

I doubt it. It's only Trump's first term. Impeachment could destroy his chances as a second term. After Clinton's impeachment, Republicans took the Presidency and eventually the Senate.

Did he? Do you have a link? Was he POTUS when it happened? Besides, we were talking about the Stormy payment.

Regardless, we agree that the GOP was fishing when it subpoenaed Clinton to testify. His lie under oath is what triggered impeachment. Witch hunt or not, Trump is vulnerable to the same tactic by dems.

Obama lied to us. He took us towards the brink of a recession.

You comment has to be one of the most uninformed comments that you have ever said. Do you ever do any research before you say things?

1. Obama ended the 2008 Recession

In February 2009, Congress approved Obama's $787 billion economic stimulus package. It cut taxes, extended unemployment benefits, and funded public works projects.

The recession ended in July 2009 when GDP growth turned positive.

In just seven months, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act pumped $241.9 billion into the economy. That increased growth to a robust 3.9 percent rate by early 2010. By March 30, 2011, almost all ($633.5 billion) of the funds were spent.

What did Obama do? 14 Major Accomplishments!

Why Did Republicans Attack Cohen Personally But Not His Story?

Because even they have no defense left for useless DonDon.

Wait till we get to 2020 and as Cohen suggests, DonDon does not allow for a peaceful transition of power even if he is wiped out in the Election. Lets face it, there are groups in this country that would prefer a White Dictatorship to a multiracial Constitutional Republic.

"Oh but race and white privilege is not an issue at all."

Ah-huh!

These are the strip down raw Truths, that the Trumpians's would love not to be said.... "TRUTHS"

They run from posting as such that tell the "Raw Truth", because they have no grounds or basis to refute it... so they try and gloss over it with hope that it can be buried away..... but fact is.... there are people who have copied the link and some copied and shared the actual text, in case for some reason it is vanquished, so people should not assume because they try to bury post, that the number of readers have the capacity to multiple the number of people who actually see and read the content..... That's part of the benefit of Forums, as they are tools of communication today, that carry thoughts, information, dialog and facts on into the future, for future generations to have access to..

It's kinda like the Speeches of MLK that many tried to hide from, gloss over and spin their denials against, but many people and publications copied and shared the text, sent links to it and distributed it by countless means. Therefore, it can never be destroyed... because so many people have and save records of such. Other nations have translated it into many languages so people can read and learn.....

So don't let the lower numbers on this site fool anyone, because if three people share it with three people and etc... its readership multiples tremendously..... even when it may not register in the number counts on this forum or on a particular thread ..... ;)

Run, Run, Run... but info spreads faster than anyone's feet can move ....

It's good you try to educate them, but .... remember the bible speaks about "trying to share wisdom to fools". Proverbs 23:9 Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.

Anything as insidious as the Republican Dribble demonstrate the reasons why America is insulted every time these "imbeciles try and speak"

Some of these people are beyond reaching with information, knowledge and wisdom..... This links tells of many things about the malice of madness of some, and how to deal with their insidiousness and ignorance.

There wasn't much to defend in his story really. Everything he accused trump of is either already well know, or has no way to prove. At the same time, the thing that got him to testify, his trip to prague to supposedly pay for russian collusion(Rachel Maddow's conspiracy) he outright denied. Everytime the democrats posed the question "did he collude with russian to win the election", all he had was "I don't know for sure, but he would do anything to win". So there is nothing new here, other than how he refers to black people, and why should we believe him on that story?

All I can say is:

1) where there is smoke there is usually a fire
2) tell me the company you keep and I will tell you who you are
3) once a proven liar, always a liar
4) if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, it probably is a duck.
5) unproven legally does not mean it is okay.
6) when someone says "believe me", the first thing you should think of is "don't"

By the way, this is 100% true:

Because what Cohen said about Trump is common knowledge.

The entire world knew he was a racist when he publicly defended Neo Nazis and the KKK after Charlottesville. After Trump "University," we all knew he was a con man. After bragging about sexually assaulting women, and doing a perverted Peeping Tom act on naked women at his pageants, we all knew he was a POS.

In reality, Cohen brought nothing new to the table.

It's not a campaign finance violation and any fairly competent lawyer can defeat that charge. No matter how much Trump tied to obscure the payment, in the end it was still his own money and he can give unlimited amounts to his own campaign, if that's what they are claiming the payment is for.

You need to read up on Campaign Finance laws, and stop making stuff up as you go along.

Of course it's a campaign finance violation.

No "competent lawyer" would even argue that.

Obama lied to us. He took us towards the brink of a recession.

Wut? It was one of the longest periods of uninterrupted peacetime economic growth in US history.
