Where does AOC really live?

For every Trump thread posted by your side, there will be double the amount of AOC threads, just to be fair.

You started this war, we will finish it!

There's no real comparison between the President, whose actions have real consequences and actually goes out of his way to harm others, the rabid 24/7 hate fest surrounding a junior representative who might have a following but no real clout.

This is not coming from the right. No question the right flavored NY Post is taking advantage, however this is from the NYS Board of Elections. Their investigative arm finds there is suspicion over her residency at her declared address. Simple and plain, a clear violation of NYS election law. Now it is up to the NYS Board of Elections to pursue or not. And that is not so transparent, is it?

Seems like your idol angel isn't so pure.

No it isn't. This is transparent, sad grasping-at-straws by the NY Post to fabricate a story about someone they hate. It's just so openly desperate, it almost makes me feel bad for the Right.

No doubt you excoriate Trump for lying, but one of your own....?

Trump's lies are demonstrable; we're going to need a little more than a tabloid rag for this one. And if she loses her seat over that's 'excoriating' enough without 'my' help.

Where in the world does Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez live?

Should it prove out that her Parkchester Apartment is only a mail drop, she can be disqualified from office, and removed by order of the State Board of Elections.

Sounds like the Post needed to sell papers so took a nothing and made a headline. "Unable to confirm" lol

When I saw the thread cap I thought, "oh boy, this should be fun" but after reading the story, I am very disappointed. Just tabloid nonsense. At least at this point.

It is a technicality, but a major one that has been enforced upon other office holders. She's young, but not that young whereby lying is an excuse for carpetbagging. She can be removed from office. Likely a negative decision by the NYS Board of Elections, tho Democrat led, will result in litigation. That could be worse for her as other information about her life will be made public. She got herself in this mess. She made herself out to be one of the people, but she is from a privileged background. No excuse for lying at the outset.
Well, I think this has to be predicated.

If she kept her parents' address while she traipsed around in her early & mid-twenties, including while at B.U., and she hadn't officially registered somewhere else by say a lease, D/L, or Voter's Registration Card, then I have no issue with it and believe the board would be doing a disservice by yanking her.

Many kids I've known kept their permanent address at their parents' during that time of their lives, to simplify things and keep things stable for receiving official and important mailings. In fact, if she didn't do an official registration of the type I described in the paragraph above, I think the board would have a hard time even legally ascertaining her official address was not hers.

Now if she was registered somewhere else in one of the legal methods I earlier mentioned, then she may possibly have a problem.

As to your claim of "carpet bagger", I see that as a bit disingenuous. Oscaio-Cortez appears to have lived in NY City or the NYC area for pretty much all of her life. I see someone like Hillary Clinton as a carpet bagger, even though she may have gone through the motions to meet the technical qualifications to run her Senate bid. But a twenty-something kid, who lived in NY all her life? I just don't see it.

Putting this nutty conspiracy theory aside... here's a factual fraud:

Did Mitt Romney Live In His Son's Unfinished Basement Last Year?

Mitt Romney lived in his son's unfinished basement in Belmont, Massachusetts in 2010 - or at least that what he claimed to the state to be able to vote last year, says GOP candidate Fred Karger.

If that's true, Romney showed a true commitment to voting for Republican Senator Scott Brown in last year's special election, since he owns a $12.5 million home in La Jolla, Calif. and a $10 million home in New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesaukee - but no home in the state he was once governor.

Take it up with the NYS Board of Elections.

Your fear is palpable.

She didn't grow up in the Bronx, or NYC. She grew up at her mother's house in Westchester. The apartment in question was her father's, he passed some years back.

These aren't conspiracies, just election fraud.

Carpet bagging has become routine. Doesn't make it right or honest.

If I had to take a wild guess, some of the more powerful Democrat players are getting tired of her **** and giving her some payback. Perhaps the mayor of NYC or governor who were both incensed with her stupidity over driving Amazon away.

Nope. SOP for the Election Board investigators. They grabbed a civil court judge last week who claimed to live in Astoria, actually lived in Roslyn, Nassau County with his wife and three kids. He had listed an apartment above his storefront office as his residence. The apartment had a casting couch and not much else. He resigned the next day in lieu of fines and prosecution.

The best was years back when they tagged Richie Rubin, who had been selling judgeship appointments to fill vacant seats in the civil courts. $50k a pop. Richie was one of the more powerful, but obvious egotistically corrupt Democrats. He did a year, 5 years probation, paid a $250k fine, and was disbarred. He now practices civil law in Florida, immigration and matrimonials, avoids politics. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. He would tell opposition attorneys to settle in his benefit, or he'd crucify them in front of one of the judges he owned. Hit on the wrong guy, who's brother had just been selected to run the investigative arm of the Elections Board, after 20 years as a gold shield.

She didn't drive Amazon away, but she was among the cheerleaders.

Now she's trying to cover her tracks, claiming she's in a new apartment with her boyfriend a few blocks away. It's still under construction, not listed on any of her forms.

She's just another self serving politician.

There is a lot of controversy surrounding AOC.

There's controversial policy she's advocated, and the controversy they foment is fitting fodder for fulmination. Then there's the BS such as what this thread's rubric article introduces...the stuff worthy of gossip rags. That foolishness doesn't deserve to be dignified with a substantive response.

I cannot imagine this gets anywhere. She's an outstanding congresswoman who has given no real reason to lose her seat. Let me know if she's caught doing anything actually wrong and not just causing some havoc with her policies. NYS board of elections might get on her tail a bit after the Amazon thing and angering a lot of local dems, but they wouldn't really enforce something like this in a scenario like this. At least I would hope not.

What guess? During the past two years, more than a dozen office holders in NYC have been removed from office for falsely reporting places of residence, from judges to members of the state legislature, with individuals from both parties. This is serious business and has nothing to do with partisan politics. It is part of the corruption you like to harp about.

If she lied about where she lives to get on the ballot, she has only herself to blame.

From your linked NY Post article: "And in 2017, when Ocasio-Cortez first filed paperwork to become a congressional candidate, she didn’t even know what district she lived in, mistakenly declaring plans to run for neighboring District 15 before correcting the error days later."

But I'm more interested in how Ocasio-Cortez's staff pay plan will work out. She is probably going to have to cut the salaries of some of her highest-paid staff so that the lowest-paid will make $52K. According to her communications director:

Some Ocasio-Cortez staffers might be required to take pay cuts, Trent acknowledged. He is making $67,000 a year and has two children.

“Is it easy? No,” he said. “But part of walking the walk is understanding that everyone is going to have a little bit of a struggle. You divide it up. You work together.” Ocasio-Cortez announces staff starting salary of $52K to champion 'living wage' | TheHill

There is a lot of controversy surrounding AOC.

Just an FYI Bucky, there was also a lot of “controversy “ surrounding President Obama’s BC, death panels, stimulus, deficits, golf and so on. Maybe you should be a teensy bit more skeptical of what your conservative master tell you.
