Jussie Smollett apologized to the cast and crew of "Empire" on Thursday night for any embarrassment the recent allegations may have caused, but he maintained that he was innocent, a person at the meeting told CNN.

The person at the meeting said they were shocked and dismayed that Smollett stuck to his story of innocence. For the most part, the source said, Smollett paraphrased what was in the statement that his attorney put out that afternoon, blaming the legal system and the media for his woes.

20th Century Fox Television executive VP of corporate communications and publicity, Chris Alexander, confirmed that Smollett was on set filming on Thursday.

The police say Mr. Smollett hired two brothers to carry out the assault and paid them $3,500. They have a copy of the check used to pay them, the police said. Also recovered, they said, were phone records that showed Mr. Smollett speaking to the brothers an hour before the incident took place, and then an hour after.

In a document prepared for the bail hearing, prosecutors said they had video of the brothers at the scene, text messages they shared with Mr. Smollett and their testimony as to how Mr. Smollett had recruited them for the plan. He even had them visit the scene of what investigators contend was the fake attack, a spot near his home, on an earlier night to prepare, prosecutors said.

But, the prosecutor’s document said, a video camera at the spot that Mr. Smollett had hoped would capture a phony attack was pointed in the wrong direction.

Maybe it appeared as if I singled you out, but all liberals would have been kissing this guy's ass if his story were true. The Oscars would have included a 20 minute segment devoted to Smollett, and his 'modern day lynching'.

I don't know **** about the Trump threads because I'm not in most of them. I believe there should be not more than two threads on any given subject, because it clogs up the board - just like this stupid ****ing thread. Just another, because y'all are just eaten up over it.

I didn't nominate dick, thank you very much. I wanted Bernie Sanders, and had he gotten the DNC nomination, we might not be the embarrassment of the world right now.

How do you have "fund" with anything? Your entire post is kind of a mess.

I thought I lived in a country where a man, nay, person is innocent until proven guilty. Where rumors are not enough to ruin someone's life. Where accomplishments speak louder than critics and scoundrels who would see the righteous and the mighty fall. And here we are...
