NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump and his adult children on Thursday urged a federal judge to dismiss a racketeering lawsuit accusing them of using the family name to promote sham marketing opportunities to vulnerable, financially struggling investors.

Calling the lawsuit “implausible,” the Trump family said in a filing in federal court in Manhattan that the four plaintiffs failed to prove there was fraud or intent to cause harm, or that any statements by Donald Trump caused losses.

So, the defendant's lawyer(s) filed a motion to dismiss...a pretty standard move in a court proceeding albeit typically unsuccessful unless one or more affirmative defenses apply, or under other specific situations.

However, this article writing the story in such a way as to give the impression the TRUMP's were actually "urging the judge" is a bit of nonsense, because their attorney(s) filed the motion and the Trumps didn't "say" or "urge" anything, their lawyers do that work.

Yeah it's implausible even though he had to do a settlement for Trump U AND he had to close down his "non-profit" foundation because he was using it as a slush fund. It's amazing that ANYONE can still believe a single word this con artist says.

That is LAUGHABLE given Trump's settlements and the fact he had to shut down his non-profit foundation because he was using it as a slush fund. But it's implausible that Trump's family would use the name for shams. Over the past year you have lost ALL credibility selling your soul to Trump.
