Trump Is Fueling Hate As Hate Groups Hit 20 Year High In US

First, I don't believe Smollett lying.

Second, his alleged lies are nothing compared to the murders that are happening almost weekly at the hands of white supremacists.

Yet he is lying lmao.

Can you picture Trump ever saying this?

This is the problem because love has been known to solve problems but hate has never solved any. With Trump, we are stimulating love for money but hate for people, especially those that do not agree with us. Money comes and goes but people will always be around.

Yeah, you dont know what the hell you are talking about.

A 20 year high means there are almost as many hate groups today as there were during the Clinton years. But the truth is, the number of these groups is largely irrelevant since many have only a handful of members and others nothing more than local gatherings of the larger group.

Today a “hate group” might only have an online presence. 20 years ago nobody really had an online presence.

4th straight year would mean 2015-2018. How does that coincide with declines in Obama's last years???

It's in the article. It was dipping 'near the end' and started to rise again. I guess they took a loose view of near the end because let's say 2012-2015 would only be up to 2/3 of the way through. Slightly sloppy handling by the reporter.

But what's telling is it more or less coincides with Trump's presidential run and subsequent tenure. We have the stats - hate groups have been up. We have the president's own words: good people on both sides. We have the white supremacists who've variously claimed in interviews, articles and on TV that they feel Trump is their guy this time. What more do we need? He fuels hate.

I think the SPLC has the KKK membership at between 5000-8000 in the entire US. Thats about 100 per state or the statistically insignificant .000015 of the entire population. Thats why the focus on the number of hate groups rather than the number of people in those groups.

He's certainly at least partially responsible. When the POTUS publicly supports the KKK and Neo Nazis, I don't think anyone is surprised to see White Supremacists across the nation emboldened.

Trump Defends White-Nationalist Protesters: 'Some Very Fine People'

Just as the left are partially responsible. In other words, doesn't have any more to do with Trump than it does anyone else. As Washnut pointed out, the timeframe would be from 2015-2018, half under Obama and the trend continues under Trump.

Why are you changing the topic? We're not talking about Hillary....

We were discussing Trump and racism. One of the points I've made is that Trump is blatantly racist, and has publicly supported the KKK and Neo Nazis.

You brought up Reagan so I felt it proper to pick a better example that was more up to date with the times. Sorry if my example was more relevant than yours. Also, Trump has never publically supported the KKK and Neo Nazis. Keep holding to your fantasies, though.

Take a look at the thread title, we are discussing Trump and hate. Trump is in the Republican party. Do you have anything to discuss regarding the thread topic, instead of trying to deflect?

Your brought up the Southern Strategy, and I responded. This is twice where you are complaining about your own actions.

The Republicans have run the racist Southern Strategy for over 1/2 century. This has attracted racists, and they have gathered under the Republican banner. Trump took advantage of that and ran a blatantly racist campaign designed to appeal to the racists in the Republican party. The racists loved this, and are now extremely staunch supporters, even supporting Trump when he publicly sided with Putin against the entire American Intelligence community.

One group loved Trump’s remarks about Charlottesville: White supremacists

All of these points are well documented through reliable sources.

Well documented lies are still lies.
