Kamala Harris Wants To Get Rid Of Columbus Day

These socialists show their true colors more and more every day.

What is "socialist" about her request? Seriously, look at the definition of socialism and let us all know what is socialist about the change.

Maybe the whole world should do away with holidays altogether and just celebrate 20 times a year the "cradle of humanity day".. ;)

Whatever term you want to use on her, she is an extremist, far left. Too far left for the average American.

A lot of people want to change Columbus Day and most of them aren’t socialists.

Man, imagine having your capital be Indigenous Peoples, Ohio.

Kamala Harris Supports Changing Columbus Day To Indigenous People’s Day

Interesting how you post this thread with the "socialist" propaganda the same day this article was posted:

"A wide-ranging disinformation campaign aimed at Democratic 2020 candidates is already underway on social media, with signs that foreign state actors are driving at least some of the activity.

The main targets appear to be Sens. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), and former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas), four of the most prominent announced or prospective candidates for president.

That (probably not so) amazing coincidence aside, we should get rid of Columbus day. There is literally no reason for it to be a holiday and plenty of reasons for it to not be a holiday.

Post #10 and still absolutely no argument as to why her position is incorrect, silly, ill-conceived etc. The only rationale for this thread so far is "she wants to change the name of something!" Might as well run around in circles screaming "rabble rabble rabble".

Nobody needs "foreign state actors" to discredit these clowns. They do it every time they say something.

And yet, not one legitimate argument against what she said. I do note, however, how quickly you rushed to defend the "foreign state actors".

So what reason do you think Columbus should be celebrated for? I'm not seeing the extremism here, what actions did Columbus do that deserves to be celebrated?

No, it's about something other than that. It's about attacking the white European heritage of America and either minimizing or burying it. That's all it's really about.

So...your problem with her position is that it is not overtly racist enough for you? Because I am pretty certain indigenous people were here before the Europeans. Hence the term "indigenous".

So given the actions of Columbus, what do you think he did that deserves to be celebrated?

Well, there goes Joe Piscopo and the rest of the Italian vote. :doh

Changing the name of the holiday does not attack anything necessarily, nor does it necessarily have anything to do with race. Your claim says more about why you think the holiday should stay as is("white people") than it says about what Harris thinks.

I defended nothing. I said that no such actors are required.

If you're defending the parts of European heritage that are about enslavement and genocide than you're just an asshole. There's no reason to take pride in a piece of **** like Columbus.

Yea, so what? That doesn't change the subsequent history. Aborigines were in Australia first, too, but white Europeans made it a modern nation. These are simply facts.
