Take a good look at medicare. It is administered by the insurers. It is time to scrap the procedure base remuneration system that dictates healthcare, and which was devised by insurers for their own benefit. America needs a complete gestalt eye for healthcare, not a piece meal deliverance of band aids.

Her plan to wean America off cars, trucks and airplanes is the stupidest idea ever to be floated by an American politician but she is doing a bang up job trying to continue to defend her stupidity now that it is our there and she cannot afford to back up on the nonsense.

Single payer is merely one step of a much larger need for change. Our entire approach to healthcare needs to be reexamined and rebuilt from the ground up. It must be integrated with every facet of our lives, from well before we are born until death with dignity. No excuses, America is a can do nation, and Americans have the spirit to enact revolutionary change will improve all our lives, and lives of future generations, encompassing all and everyone. Quibbling about money will resolve nothing.

She isn't offering a plan. She's offering an assault on the fossil fuel industry. Imagine becoming the world's top producer of oil and natural gas and then destroying those industries for stuff already proven to be completely incapable of providing the energy we need. If only we could redirect her to world hunger! It would be less than 0.1% of the cost of the GND annually.

That being said, you guys are missing the easy answer here! We just take the 21trillion she thinks the DoD has hidden in the basement, the $3 billion dollars she saved new york by helping chase off the 27 billion in income, and tax the rich at 70% (making something like 4 billion) and we are almost a third of the way to the cost of the GND. We just have to keep letting her find all this magic money hidden around the country.

Good in theory, but I'm afraid as practical as the Green Deal. For one it would take bipartisan cooperation and that just isn't going to happen

It's been said that many of today's Trump Republicans seem to think it's 1861.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is advancing ideas which first germinated in 1936, 1942, 1949, 1951, 1964 and 1965, and which served us very very well.

Certainly those ideas need updating and fresh eyes and ears, but it's absurd to call them extreme.

How many of those are on the road, what is their cost, what sort of distance can they travel between charges, how long does a recharge take and how many recharging stations are there ?

You might have missed that hundreds of millions will be slashed on Medicare, Medicaid and the VA in the coming years if the Republicans continue to get their way. In ten years time at the rate they want, there won't BE any money left in those budgets at all.
That is by design.
