'The president may have committed treason': National security expert says Trump is making the FBI's case for them

National security expert Malcolm Nance said that President Donald Trump’s Twitter feed, rich with attacks on the FBI, the Department of Justice, and the special counsel’s investigation, is causing people to publicly question whether in fact the president is guilty of treason.
=======================================
“These phrases, ‘taking down an elected president’, ‘a bureaucratic coup’ — this is Donald Trump’s characterization” of “the patriots at the FBI and the Department of justice, who were defending the Constitution of the United States, using their sworn positions to identify a threat to the United States,” Nance said in a blizzard of words.

I guess I'm not the only one who smells a rat occupying the OO.

Malcolm Nance is a breath of fresh air and always has something relevant to say. I agree with him 100%. Trump is a traitor and poses the greatest single threat to the nation and our people since the end of WWII.

I agree. He is a frequent panel member on MSNBC and it's obvious that he knows what he's talking about. No Fox so-called News BS from him.

It’s amusing that you badmouth Fox as a crap source while posting a link to RawStory.

If you had opened the article, you would have seen the link to Nance on MSNBC. That's what this thread is about. It isn't about RawStory.

I’m sure Jack appreciates your defense of his hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy? Nance made his comments on MSNBC. RawStory wasn't giving an opinion. They gave a link to the segment on MSNBC.

If you have some issues with Jack, you should tell him.

If he criticizes the opinions of Fox News, what does that have to do RS linking to Nance talking for himself, and not an opinion on Nance?

I did tell Jack. You decided to jump in as his white knight.

Because you're mad that RawStory published a link to an MSNBC clip of Malcom Nance's words, you can't even discuss the topic of the thread. The topic is what Nance said. Do you plan to address it? And would it help if we posted a link to MSNBC so you can hear it for yourself and not get distracted by "RawStory"?

Hmmm.....I thought you were more adult than that. I was wrong I guess?

Re: President may have committed treason-National security expert says Trump is making the FBI’s c

I guess I will need to add "treason" to my list of words that have been diluted beyond all utility, right alongside "terrorism" and "racism".

Kind of funny you passing judgment on what’s considered adult or not. Like claiming I’m “mad” that RawStory did something. Can you show anything I’ve posted that would indicate I was mad about RawStory? Come on, Ms. White Knight, your defense is faltering.

I commented on the OP’s comments, which is kinda what this place is supposed to be about. Hard to tell anymore, though.

I don’t think an honest discussion of hot button issues are even remotely possible anymore.

So you aren't mad at the story. You just wanted to ignore it so you can attack the OP. Got it.

I'll wait to see if someone actually wants to discuss Nance's words and not other posters.

It's a public message board. Responding to something someone considers bull**** isn't "white knight[ing]".

"A bureaucratic coup" is most definitely an appropriate term to use. Whoever these hacks are making this claim are full of it. They also don't know the definition of treason.

Yes a rat who has given state secrets to Russian Spies and Duterte, and no doubt Putin, therefore.

Of course the right wing on this forum are going to attack Nance, that is their style, attack the messenger and not the message. The reason they they don't have a fat chance in hell in refuting what was posited in Nance's book, "The Plot To Destroy Democracy" is because they are under the hypnotic spell of their cult leader and can't see straight. Oh, a few are not hypnotized on the right such as Scarborough, Schmidt, Will, Smith, Nicole Wallace ( probably Chris, as well ) and others, but most on the right apparently are, especially many on this forum.

And, to those who will bring up the moronic, "the prez determines classification" rebuttal, don't. The issue is not about whether or not the prez has it in his authority to do so, the issue is incompetence for having done so. A competent president knows what can be declassified, and what should not ( let alone giving the info to Russian spies in the oval office where no Americans are president, just two Russian spies and a Russian photographer and a Russian translator ). Just because he has the power to do it doesn't get him off the competence hook.

Fox does have a few straight shooters, (Shep Smith, for example ) but they are on daytime when no one is watching, that is Fox's "fair and balanced" approach. I'll link to predominantly right wing sources if they are correct about something. Actually, I prefer it that way because then right wingers cannot shout "partisan hack", which they kneejerk a lot.

The reason why the 'the president has the right..." is cited so often is because it's generally cited in the context as evidence of the criminal conspiracy Trump is supposedly involved.
As you freely agree the president exercised his lawful authority in releasing those documents, it would be thus hard pressed to defend the action on policy grounds.

I'm not arguing on policy grounds, I'm arguing it on competence grounds, which is a serious matter, ie., the competence or lack thereof and the individual who has control over the nuke football.

Obama, like
It depends. Trump, like Obama before him, does not think Russia is the great boogeyman. Indeed, one can read articles over the past decade or so explaining how the USA caused the problems it presently has with Russia.
Mrs. Clinton had her ridiculous reset button.
Perhaps Trump tried something more substantial.

Please show where I said another poster couldn’t “have a go at me”.

I responded directly to the OP’s hypocrisy. I also correctly pointed out Tres’s response to me as her defending the OP, which it certainly was.

And now here’s you jumping in defending her.

Yes, it’s a public message board, etc., etc. We can all respond to whomever we like in whatever manner we choose within the rules. We also have the freedom to point out perceived motives behind the posts. Happens all the time.

If I see a piece “reporting” on a story in another publication, I’ll normally link to the original.

I just thought it was amusing that the OP complained about one source he considers partisan while linking to another partisan source.

I responded to a post talking about sources. That posted did not mention the substance of what Nance said.

I now eagerly await your post chiding them about discussing sources and not talking about what Nance said.

That posted (sic) contained the link to Nance speaking on MSNBC, in his own words.

I understand now. You didn't open the link in the OP.
