Instead of Mexico Paying for Wall...

You're the one saying he "stole" the money. He didn't. The funds had already been appropriated and he's merely reallocating them.

The way I heard it, he took some money used to fight drug trafficking to use to... fight... drug smuggling... by building a wall... to fortify places... that drugs don't move through. Is this true?

And again, what is the emergency?

because we didn't really care whether we or mexico had to pay to secure the border properly, as long as it gets done.

...is actually what happened.

I'm not really fond of it having to be done this way, but if the SCOTUS rules it ok then I'm ok with it. we shall see.

Nice spin, but wrong.

The money belongs to the Executive Branch. Trump is the boss of the Executive Branch. He cannot steal what already belongs to himself.

It is according to the Constitution. I know you and Trump do not like the Constitution, but it says the purse strings belong to the Congress and that starts in the House. To make changes to how the money is spent by the Constitution requires that the president get approval of the Congress. I guess you like the idea of a dictator in the White House, as long as he is your dictator, but the rest of us would like to maintain the balance of powers provided in our constitution.

For sure, I don't like that imaginary constitution you are talking about.

Oh noes! Teh victimz.

There you have it folks...a leftist displaying what they really think about the victims of illegal aliens. Thanks for this post! It is exactly what I was looking to reel in.
^right there folks...a lefty making fun of citizens killed by illegals. Doesn't get more disgusting than that.

Would you like to compare those numbers with the number of mass shooting victims or overdose deaths? We can play the numbers game all day if you want to go down that horrible path.
Hell yeah, tell us how many Americans were killed by illegal drugs smuggled in from mexico just last year.

The overwhelming majority of smuggled drugs come through legal POE, and let's not forget that our own pharmaceutical drugs help jack up the overdose rate as well. Is that worthy of a national emergency? If so how does a wall fix those issues?

Thanks...I said smuggled in from Mexico. Smuggled is smuggled...now answer the question. It was your challenge. Tell us the number of Americans killed by illegal drugs coming across our border.

You are asking a complicated question to avoid defending why a wall would be an effective defense against drug trafficking. Drugs are illegally smuggled into the United States from several sources. They then hit the illicit drug market and become harder to effectively track. We know that fentanyl makes up close to 70% of overdose deaths in the United States and that China and Mexico are the largest traffickers. Make up what ever number you want and allot 90% of that to smuggled drugs through legal POE and 10% smuggled through "un-walled" areas on the border. You can use as many deaths as you feel like to avoid answering how the wall even puts a dent into drug trafficking, but that is what this entire thread is about. I am in no way disputing that illegal drugs are primarily smuggled through the U.S.-Mexico border. I am arguing that wall doesn't help fix the problem. Why does the wall fix the problem of drug trafficking?
