"...She said she has been called a racist and a bigot. Asked whether she believes she is, Knowlton, who is white, responded adamantly, “No, because I don’t want to live amongst them..."

"...Her vote for Trump rests in something deeper than policies or proposals. For her, he is her champion, the champion of all of white America... ... “I want my country back,” she said..."

"...data shows that as minorities move into suburbs, white families are making small and personal decisions that add velocity to the momentum... ...They are increasingly choosing to self-segregate into racially isolated communities..." "...So as the country diversifies, white Americans are increasingly choosing to live among each other..."

"...his [Trump] blathering noise is all over the place. The unspoken signal is crystal clear: keep America white.

"...this explains why evangelicals were willing to vote for a man who so clearly did not live by their values – as he promised to keep them dominant..."

This explains why The Cult loves the idea of a wall. They don't care if it's not very effective, it's a symbolic manifestation of their fear of becoming a minority.

I've heard that whites will become a minority somewhere between 2044 and 2050. Given this known trend, how will whites react when 2044 approaches? Will 'white flight' rapidly accelerate? Will they become even more radical, wiling to vote for a Repub politician who's racism is even more overt than Trump's?

So I'm curious about Trump supporters here, How many feel some anxiety, but not panic? How many who fear this trend to the point of personally acting to stop it? And hopw far will they go, or more to the point, how low will they go trying to hang onto their dominance?

Yet white, liberal elites live in upscale lily white enclaves behind walled estates. The left gives that a pass but if they find people at Walmart expressing anxieties of one type or another, they jump on that like a dog on a ham bone. It's dishonest and hypocritical but hardly unexpected since it happens again and again.

I love Conservatives!

Being a Liberal myself I would never ever have known what I was supposed to think or how I was supposed to act if it wasn't for Conservatives so authoritatively affirming what being a Liberal is all about!

Thanks to so many Conservatives, without you all I could never be the LIBERAL that I have become!

Woo Hoo!

Elites live in upscale lily white enclaves..........not just liberal ones. Besides, their walls are for privacy, not necessarily protection. Also, immigration isn't something to protect yourself from, since it only other people trying to better their lives in your country. Immigration is a net positive, so there is no need to protect yourself from something that is positive.

But hey, that never stopped the republicans from manufacturing crisis to scare their base in to voting the way the elites want you to. And it works. LMAO!

I have absolutely no fear of ever becoming a minority. I believe that if anyone has a fear that they will become one of the minority, it's only fear that's based on the knowledge of how whites have historically treated minorities and they don't want those roles reversed.

Now, please tell us how we're all afraid of non-whites and don't want to live with them.

Nope.

And I enjoy living in a diverse society.

In nature, diversity provides a stronger genetic ability to adapt and survive. It does this societally as well..with ideas, innovation, perspectives, solutions, etc.

I'll stick with Gene Roddenberry in praising the benefits of "infinite diversity in infinite combinations" (The IDIC)

Since I am already a minority, but am a staunch conservative and Republican, plainly not. What I fear is if most people decide to abandon the values that make this nation great in the first place.

I noticed how you conflated LEGAL immigration with ILLEGAL immigration. It is the latter we oppose and want to stop. All Americans should.

By 2050 there will be a lot less people that are afraid of other races.

Leftist leaders clearly do, as they all live in GATED COMMUNITIES, HIDING BEHIND WALLS....

Trump isn't governing as a liberal. He is not Hillary Clinton. That is the pertinent issue.

Not afraid at all. Diverse societies are a good thing.

You're comparing apple to oranges. You're right about both conservative and liberal elites living in walled, upscale neighborhoods. But the wealthy elite have much more in common with their wealthy brethren of any color than the unwashed poor.

It's just that a much smaller percentage of wealthy white liberals are as fearful as their conservative counterparts. The wealthy of all political persuasions, regardless of where they live, working to help minorities are not dishonest or hypocritical, they're compassionate...

Thats my concern. You hit the nail right on the head. I could careless about others and their background the only thing I care about is do they want and value the same things I do fundamentally for the most part. That is they value their independence, and self sovereignty and prefer to live and let live and to be mainly just left alone to live as they pretty much please. They should also be for minimal government. If they are, then we have a fundamental commonality, and we are good. If not we have a problem Houston.

I think your analysis has solid validity. The lines between nationalism, white nationalism , xenophobia and Xenoglossophobia ( fear of being exposed to unknown languages) are all very blurred in the Trump phenomena. How much of each is responsible, is anyone's guess but that language issue is huge for a lot of people. They are terrified that they or their childrens will be the isolated ones in rooms and bureaucracies full of Spanish speakers. Its enough to make them break out in sweats, run into gated communities, and vote for morons

I noticed how you conflated LEGAL immigration with ILLEGAL immigration. It is the latter we oppose and want to stop. All Americans should.

Not as often as conservatives conflate illegal immigrants with refugees...

And yet you are still a staunch Republican.....

Thanks for the Boise demographic information, the totally irrelevant demographic information.

Why would I "... tell us how we're all afraid of non-whites and don't want to live with them"?

Why would you want me to tell "us" something I don't believe in nor have I ever said before?

That is really, really dumb!

You make no sense.

Yea, they're compassionate as long as they don't have to interact with their lessors. I agree that people gravitate to others with similar educational and income levels. Professionals are drawn to other professionals, etc. That starts to break down the poorer people get because then it becomes more of a fight for jobs, family safety, etc. When your day to day survival is your prime concern, you have much less interest in "cultural diversity". I'm not sure we should be scolding people living in such conditions, no matter what race they are.

And thanks to conservatives for becoming so crazy and cultish that they force other undesirables to change parties and become more liberal. :peace

Amen to that!

The Republican Party under Trump, taught me, a former lifelong Registered Republican, the truth and the sting in the phrase "we don't serve your kind in here".
