(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today it received 215 pages of records from the U.S. Department of Justice revealing former FBI General Counsel James Baker discussed the investigation of Clinton-related emails on Anthony Weiner’s laptop with Clinton’s lawyer, David Kendall. Baker then forwarded the conversation to his FBI colleagues.

The documents also further describe a previously reported quid pro quo from the Obama State Department offering the FBI more legal attaché positions if it would downgrade a redaction in an email found during the Hillary Clinton email investigation “from classified to something else.”

The newly obtained emails came in response to a May 21 order in a January 2018 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed after the DOJ failed to respond to a December 4, 2017 FOIA request (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:18-cv-00154)). Judicial Watch seeks:

All records of communications, including but not limited to, emails, text messages and instant chats, between FBI official Peter Strzok and FBI attorney Lisa Page;
All travel requests, travel authorizations, travel vouchers and expense reports of Peter Strzok.

This and associated stories have been bubbling around for a few days. Aspects of them have been around for months. In fact, the other day I had MSNBC on and they were talking to some junior reporter in the House or Senate building and even he alluded to this kind of thing going on. In that case it was more a matter of "We'll give you more funding if you give us this ruling or this investigation".

Little by little the unconscionable corruption all through the halls of the federal government is getting exposed. When the day of reckoning comes it should be a VERY memorable day.

I have long said, as most everyone here was shooting off their blowholes about what Mueller is, or is not, doing and who he's doing it to, none of us have a clue.

Mueller, by the account given by those really in the know, is nothing short of a professional and even though he is a republican, when he puts his work hat on, he is as objective as humanly possible. Certainly more objective than his know-it-all naysayers.

We are all creating our own news, our own versions, our own story while Mueller isn't saying a word. His cards are, and have always been, held extremely close to the vest. It is very possible that he has artfully got the nation to look to the west while he was working in the east.

It would surprise me none to see them ALL go down in a blaze of glory when he is done doing what he's going to do.

One think for sure, if the hammer falls down on Trump Corp., Trumptards from coast to coast will tell us what a P.O.S. he is. If he puts Hillary in an orange jumpsuit, the Trumptards will praise his glory.

But wherever Mueller's hammer falls, it will hit the nail square on the head. Where it belongs. (Despite the whinings or brayings from the First Church of Trump members or the DemocRats.)

I don't think so.

Mueller probably is a fine professional. I don't doubt his integrity at all. However, if he was tasked to find dirt on Trump then that's what he's going to do. He isn't going to look at anything that comes up which throws shade on Clinton or Obama because that isn't part of his tasking. He isn't going to be the least bit objective in uncovering instances of cooperation or coordination with foreign actors because that isn't what he's tasked with doing. He's tasked with finding dirt on Trump and people associated with Trump. If he found emails and invoices from Russians associated with Clinton and Podesta they'd go in the circular file because, as a man of consummate integrity, he knows he isn't tasked to look at that stuff.
