Trump plans on declaring a national emergency

BREAKING: McConnell says Pres Trump has told him he is prepared to sign the funding bill into law AND declare a national emergency at the same time.

And it looks like McConnell will back Trump's decision. Most likely a fair agreement. Trump gave the Democrats every opportunity to fund the wall. They refused and Trump will declare a national emergency, which is perfectly legal and within his presidential powers.
 
Please, please, pleaaaasee do this. Open pandora's box. I can't wait for all of the fun liberal **** we're going to shove down your throat once the pendulum swings back the other way. Let's just circumvent congress all together and let the president shuffle around funds any way he chooses. Maybe we'll declare a "national emergency" and redirect all ICE funding to free abortions for illegal immigrants and redirect military funding to fighting climate change.

If he does, the House should start impeachment proceedings immediately. Trump has made us laughing stock throughout the world and now he goes even farther with a wall that could not keep an any out of the country. He needs to go, NOW, before we waste 25 or 50 billion on a stupid boondoggle wall that will do nothing but satisfy his cult members. And McConnell will be next. McConnell's poll numbers are so low in Kentucky he will be lucky to beat anyone the next time he comes up for election.
 
McConnel was totally stuck. He had to throw himself fully in with Trump, to bail him out. Of course it (the emergency) will most surely be immediately stayed. But, at least the country can move-on from the hole Trump dug for himself.

58 national emergencies have been declared since 1979. Barriers do work. If it is strong enough.

Thats a dumb move. The emergency declaration will end up in court 24hrs after being announced and the court will put an injunction on it till the matter is adjudicated which will be some time and probabley into a second term if Trump manages that. Trump should stick to his guns. The congress wants to spend money, use that against them.

Lawsuits are already being filed.....This will be tied for months, maybe years...The Democrats were well prepared...Also opens the Door for a future (soon) Democratic President and House to use this tactic

Well, this is going to be a precedent that will burn them with fire via the next Democratic WH.

You mean like Obama ALREADY DID. Federal money anywhere cannot be used for abortions, and weakening the US Military to PAYOFF the UN's CO2 SCAM makes as much sense as "The Green New Deal".. :lamo

It's against federal law for a president to declare a national emergency for political reasons. He has no proof of any 'crisis' and if there was a legitimate crisis a year ago as he said there was then he would be negligent that he didn't declare a national emergency a year ago. He absolutely cannot simply declare a national emergency just to get his way. This may actually be the first solid evidence of abuse of power and he may be subject to impeachment over this egregious action.

The democratic congress with bare majority passed it with the nuclear option. Remember. Right down our throats. So stop whining when it happens to you. Turnabout is fair play.

Or Democrats can declare and healthcare emergency and redirect funds to the uninsured.

These Trump supporters don't understand that everything Trump gets away with, the lying and breaking of rules, will be something that a liberal president will be free to get away with too.

I hope Democrats can use a national emergency to shut down all coal and nuclear plants, take guns from all the backward Bubbas and Jim Bobs, and abolish ICE. I can't wait until we get Kamala Harris in the White House.

But, the other scenario is that Pelosi puts forth a resolution to cancel Trump's national emergency, at which point it goes to the Senate, and every Republican will have to go on record on supporting his power abuse.

And these idiots thought that the Green Deal vote would be the talk of the public.
