Green New Deal co-sponsor Ed Markey is angry Senate will vote on his resolution.

That's true to a point, but the Green New Deal is popular among the voters of both parties. I think it's a good idea to try to make the Senate vote against popular issues. It won't necessarily pay in the short term, but it will definitely pay over time.

That's not true and you know it. The piss poor reception is the reason donkey mouth pulled it.

The government does much to protect and prop up the airline industry so that it can exist as it does today. If it were 100% private, completely accountable, and unprotected by special law; the airline industry would not look like it does today. It exists as it does because of government interference of the markets.

Just a fact.

It would be worse, without the government.

"100% private" has never been "completely accountable."

Yeah, government is 100% accountable. :lamo

Couldn't wait to say something stupid. Eh?

I stooped to your level. So, tell me why you think the government is 0% accountable.

Now you're to lie? :lamo

By "unaccountable" you meant "somewhat accountable?" Interesting. And how did you get the idea I said the government was 100% accountable?

Great, now we're getting somewhere.

So do you think there should be no aviation regulations?

how overreacting when we know McConnel is just a partisan hack ****? Everything he does is some low ball partisan move

I don't think it ends up paying off for McConnell like he thinks it will.

That was my point, its still pretty much the progressive wing that are the more "traditional dems." The establishment these days tends to focus on the coasts, college grads, white collar workforce and suburbanites. But they tend to rule the party. The progressives have been to some extent, on the outside looking in. Sanders, Warren and Brown are probably the only few progressives out there likely to run. The others are establishment masquerading as progressives to win the primaries. Once the primary is over, they will pivot back to the mainstream to pick up those white collar right leaning females in the suburbs.

You could be right, but I'm trying to be more optimistic and believe all of the momentum is on the Progressive side. Over time the establishment will have to change unless they want to keep playing defense against Republicans.

Ed Markey on Twitter: "Don’t let Mitch McConnell fool you: this is nothing but an attempt to sabotage the movement we are building. He wants to silence your voice so Republicans don’t have to explain why they are climate change deniers. McConnell wants this to be the end, this is just the beginning.… https://t.co/b1LaIW3QKM"

Apparently he didn't think his resolution was supposed to be something actually voted on, but some kind of conversation starter:

How do you "sabotage" something by calling a vote on it? Was this a serious resolution or wasn't it?

Apparently it was not, and never intended to be.

I suspect his main problem with voting on it is that it requires Senate Dems to go on record with a yea or nay, both of which are fraught with political problems.

It's YOUR resolution, Senator. No one forced you into it. If it causes your party problems, what does that tell you?

Because the FULLACRAP FEELGOOD Dems DO NOT WANT TO BE ON THE RECORD SUPPORTING THS IDIOCY, and FEAR REPURCUSSIONS from the LEFT if they do not do so.

Delightful.

Long term you are probably right. Millennials will eventually make up huge persentages for democrats. But I suspect as long as Trump is around, the mainstream dems are more than happy to welcome the GOP soccer moms and other NeverTrumpers to their side. They were absolutely gushing when they found out the Bush family wasnt voting for him. In my opinion, that led some progressives far away from Hillary. lol But I also think there are dangers after Trump. If mainstream dems dont relinquish some control to the younger progressives, it is possible they turn to the Green party or a new one. I know AOC at one time said there should be more parties. Nobody would do that now with Trump around but its certainly a possibility if the Blue Dogs come back as the claim they are.

What was it Nancy Pelosi once said, "We have to pass the bill to find out what's in it"? Americans prove their stupidity more and more every day. Thank God most of the stupidest people don't actually vote.

So what you are saying is you are against a bill but don't know what's in it

And I think that's the real point of calling a vote so quickly. By bringing it up so quickly, you prevent the debate, the conversation, and allow for non-thinking, knee-jerk propaganda to dominate what could have been a fruitful, positive, and necessary discussion regarding the needs and direction of the Republic.

Political kabuki theater.

The answer is to keep coming out with better and better ideas and working out the specifics with help from voter input.

No. And intelligent people know exactly what she said, and the context.

But that doesn't matter to a partisan hack like yourself, does it?

Wow, Grok, what an unexpected statement that I just invented for you

.
Hey look!!! Some of the FAKE NEWS/LYING LEFT LIE ABOUT WHAT IS REALLY SAID BULL****, right here.

Grok, you posted a photoshopped image. You were making fun of AOC by lying about a picture she held.

I said that I invented the statement for you. That means I wasn't lying. I told you upfront I made it up, sorry you didn't get the message.

Why do you think its ok to lie about what AOC says and does? You do this repeatedly. You post pictures of her with fake quotes or actions. Why is it ok for you to lie, but when I mirror your tactics you lose your ****?

"Poor widdo thing." Really? That's the best you got? Are you brave enough to admit your lies, or are you too scared?
