How the LGBT made this soon to be short lived mockery of marriage

Modern marriage is a contract between two people and the state for the purpose of inheritance and taxation. Its farcical to suggest only a man and a woman can be party to such a contract, there's no logical reason for it.

What is being ignored is that centuries hate spewers and murderers/aggressors have been hunting, killing, hurting and making the lives of gays/homosexuals virtually impossible.

Gays/homosexuals never had the opportunity to marry and have long and happy marriages. And who cares about procreation? We are not living in the dark ages anymore and if marriage was only about getting kids elderly people should all get divorced or never get married because just like gays they cannot naturally reproduce anymore. And that is nonsense.

Also, gays can adopt, have someone donate an egg and/or a uterus so that they can carry the child for the gays. Marriage has changed because we mostly have thrown off the shackles on our societies by religion and organized churches and now we can do what we we. Equal marriage rights is the right way forward and the right thing for now. It should have been respected a long time ago but due to restrictive forces in societies the fight for marriage equality has taken an awfully long time and now finally the time is ready for us to think of gay marriage as just as valid and proper are "straight marriage".
 
I find that conservatives generally think that an appeal to tradition and “we have been thinking and doing things a certain way for thousands of years” is some kind of good, strong argument. People thought for thousands of years that the Earth is flat and stationary in the center of the universe and that all the other stars and planets go around it. We have had institutionalized slavery and misogyny for thousands of years too, condoned and sanctioned by religious scripture. India has had a strange caste system for thousands of years, creating horrible suffering and injustice for untold billions- all condoned and sanctioned by their religion. In Africa there has been a tradition of female genital mutilation because it was thought that women allowed to experience sexual pleasure were dangerous and destabilizing to a well functioning society.

We humans have traditionally thought and done (and still do) some pretty crazy and stupid things. We should not be condemned to do them for all eternity. We should be allowed to change and grow and learn. Appeal to and blind, fearful clinging to tradition is not a good argument.

I'm sorry for this crushing blow on your reality, but marriage is not where babies come from. It's intercourse the two people doing it don't have to be married they don't have to stay married they don't even have to know each other. Heterosexuals has made it this way, to the point where in the western world he was very large number of kids are raised by a single parent.

If you want to wax philosophical about how important to marriages you should clean up your own backyard first.

The people who disagree with you probably aren't going to read it. You can pontificate all day long about how wrong you think same-sex marriages are. people will disagree or agree with you on that fundamental premise. So save yourself the trouble.

I never understood this particular complaint about same-sex marriage. It's not like if it were illegal that gay people would marry people of the opposite sex, I'm sure some did but I think that would damage the value of marriage more than promote it.
