And they SHOWED UP AND SHOWED THEIR APPRECIATION for the man dedicated to PROTECTING THEM...DESPITE EL PASO being a DEMOCRAT STRONGHOLD IN TEXAS....

Donald Trump uses El Paso rally to make his case for border wall funding

EL PASO — President Donald arrived in El Paso on Monday night to continue his increasingly uphill fight for funding for his long-promised border wall even as local leaders from across the political spectrum battle his assertion that the existing fencing near the Rio Grande has saved the city from violent crime."We’re up against people that want to allow criminals into our society," the president said as he prepared to leave the White House after a meeting with local sheriffs. "You explain that one. Most things you understand, but if you want to allow criminals into our society, convicted felons, people of tremendous, big problems."Nearly all wore Trump regalia, from "Make America Great Again" ball caps to "Trump 2020 shirts and buttons. And those who might have come under-dressed could remedy that by doing business with the throngs of street vendors who have become a staple for Trump rallies nationwide.

Both of Texas' Republican U.S. senators, John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, were called to warm up the crowd inside the arena ahead the president's arrival. When Cruz exclaimed, "It is time to build the wall,” Crowd erupted and echoed with the signature chant, "Build the wall! Build the wall." “Since the president announced his campaign, we liked what he offered the veterans, the tax proposal, and so far he has held to his promises,” said Ismael Lozado, an El Paso resident who arrived at the coliseum around 1:30 p.m. “I do believe we need a wall as a country. Any country needs to defend its borders. If you go down to south Mexico, there’s a lot of people coming over. If they had a wall down there, I’m sure not as many people would be coming in.”

Pres praises the work of German Shepherds serving as drug-sniffing dogs. Says he was told they're better than machines. Reminds him some urge him to get a dog for the family. "How would I look walking a dog on the White House lawn," he asks. "Feels a little phony to me," he says.

Obama had some rat dog. :lamo

Trump is right about not having that kind of relationship with his base, which doesn't need to have Camelot, complete with Fido or Fala. Trump's base is more interested in real life results than some Rockwellian visage in the WH, the latter not paying the bills and all.

And this is what he is getting done ,despite the Illegal-o-crats' lies and obstruction:

The end to the bullets 'coming from across the border and into buildings in El Paso' had nothing whatsoever to do with any wall. It had everything to do with the end to the war between the Juarez and Sinaloa cartels in Ciudad de Juarez. It went from the most dangerous city in the world in 2007 at the start of the cartel wars there, to below average in crime by 2012 when more than 800 police were dismissed for corruption and the Juarez cartel won control in that city. The reduction in crime in Juarez or El Paso has no relationship to any wall, none.

Oh, really?? YOU'RE AN EXPERT ON CRIME IN JUAREZ and why the bullets stopped? WHO KNEW?

Please provide the PROOF OF YOUR CLAIMS...and not from the LYINGASS LEFTIST "FACT FAKERS"....Federal or State LEOs making your claims, will do.

The TIMELINE SAYS OTHERWISE, as do the FEDERAL CRIME STATS for El Paso...as I have shown, on multiple threads.

San Franciso California and even L.A. really has NO IDEA what its like to be 0 to 20 miles from the border. So all the uber-liberal SJW's should just shut up and stop pretending half of America is racist.

He lied about his crowd size again. Claimed 10,000 were in a Coliseum that the EP fire department only allowed 6,500 to get in to. He can't help himself. Oh, and he still wants Hillary locked up!

I'm more of an expert on Ciudad de Juarez than you'll ever be since I've been good friends with someone for more than 10 years that lives there.

No, border barrier did not drive down crime in El Paso, Texas | PolitiFact

But the claim is not true.

To start, El Paso has not been considered one of the nation’s most dangerous cities. Its violent crime rate has been significantly below the national average compared to cities of similar size. Even more, the violent crime rate went up — not down, as Trump claimed — after the construction of a border fence in the region.

Crime data shows El Paso was not "one of our nation's most dangerous cities"

Yet another thread worthy of "Captain Obvious."

Trump has ~33M diehard acolytes in the US. The event was widely enough promoted; it's in TX (population ~28M), and El Paso has a population of ~680K. I'm sure Trump had no difficulty attracting thousands of them to his rally.

You just posted facts. Grok made it very clear he does not want facts.

Wall was erected in 2008. Crime in El Paso increased by 17% after the wall was put up.

So basically......
