El Paso County passes resolution: 'Disillusioned by President Trump’s lies' | TheHill

Officials in El Paso County, Texas, passed a resolution Monday, just hours before President Trump was set to hold a campaign rally in the area, pushing back on the president's remarks about the situation at the border.

MSNBC correspondent Garrett Haake posted a photo of the resolution, which states that the county is "disillusioned by President Trump’s lies regarding the border and our community."

The Donald is doing a major disservice to El Paso & El Paso County. Probably a nice place to live & work but Trump has been working overtime to smear this city & area. I'm glad this group has taken a stand against this bozo.

I don't know about other conservatives, but when it comes to the responsibilities of the federal government, I've never wanted states to make the decisions.

I spent over 5 years living in El Paso when I was stationed at Ft Bliss, but I'll bow to your superior knowledge about "the elevation."

There are mountains and a somewhat treacherous path (when the weather sucks) over a mountain pass between the west side and the northeast side (where I lived.) However, nothing of consequence was built or happens on the mountains. The rallies were held on the south side where there are no mountains and the airport (where the picture of the Trump supporters was taken) isn't near the mountains either.

No, the JOKE is that you cannot even figure out how to count how deep a crowd is...you can see the END of Beto O'Rourke's Little Gathering, about 20-25 people deep; that is NOWHERE NEAR the end of the Trump crowd.

Please don't attempt to DEFINE ME by YOUR LIMITATIONS....

You're getting ahead of yourself with crowd sizes. People want to meet US Presidents.

Furthermore, when I was in the Army I met three US Presidents. Carter, G HW Bush and Clinton. It was an honor to meet each one, even though I didn't always respect each man, I respected the position. Many people want to see the POTUS. It makes sense.

When you served in the military, what presidents did you meet?

Trump is a liar. By defending his lies you only degrade yourself. There was a time when being caught lying was a big deal.
